Can't rule out Dembele and say Walker's a good shout when he's never played wing back.

Didn’t he play RWB the season poch played 3421 with jan Toby Dier at CB?

Also played it under Southgate

Yeah Walker has played loads of wingback, mainly under Poch and Southgate but also under Pep too.

I don’t think Conte would like Dembele that much

Ah fair enough. Definitely going to make a case for Bale, though. His set pieces alone..

I don't think any manager in the world turns down a peak Bale. Though if Ledley is fit Conte would probably have him

Peak bale obvs is a worldie but it’s not a position we lack in this conte starting line up.

Lloris
Romero Toby Jan
Walker Bissouma Bentancur Perisic
Kulusevski Kane Son

That would be a sick team

Lloris
Romero King Jan
Walker Wanyama Dembele Perisic
Bale Kane Son

That'd beat yours I reckon

Ledley is so overrated

Tough one init. Schrodinger's world class CB. Though England had some incredible CBs at the time and he was probably the best of the lot when he played

posted on 30/9/22

I think Walker and Jan would be the biggest upgrades from the 16/17 team.

For England or for club?

I also agree with you about Son, H.

His best season is probably a little worse than Bale’s but all his other seasons trump Bale’s. Even if I do have a bit of a negative Son agenda.

I mean, we know he was grate for us but you can only judge by what was about at the time. I remember every time he started thinking we'd get a result. He was different gravy

I'm sure stats support Son but Bale by the time he left us was rightfully the most expensive player in the WORLD

posted on 30/9/22

A lot of Kings early years he had a range of different positions, people remember him more for his 7 good games a season in his later years.

I’d imagine if Son was younger he would have gone for a world record fee or close to that last summer

Ifs and buts and coconuts though init

Well if you hold that view, then money spent on a player is a nonsensical metric

posted on 30/9/22

I don't know why we're comparing them but.. Son is clearly fantastic but 1. Bale wouldn't take his spot and 2. he's not the best in the world

Not really. One thing actually happened, the other could've actually happened in a different universe

But it’s one thing that only happens in a non-frequent occurrence that is based on a whole host of non-performance related circumstances. So using amount spent on a player is relatively meaningless.

Me choosing Walker was he’d upgrad our starting line up significantly as RWB is our weakest spot in this current squad.

Bale would be a minor upgrade and I’d say last season son was better than any bale seasons for us anyway

Generally yes you're right. However we are well aware of how significant the fee was at the time. He broke the CR7 record for a player from the PL based on his performances. He wasn't overpriced or in the post-Neymar ridiculous fee era

posted on 30/9/22

I'm fact what you're saying is, in this specific non-frequent instance I'm right. Which, fortunately for me, is the specific instance I was referring to. Not all football transfers
