did some of the brazilians make the brazil squad then?
i guess their club form got them call ups in the end, so there was more incentive to impress to get in the squads too.

I would argue that both us and city aren’t underperforming though tbf. I think a lot of people miss the fact that the CL teams are struggling with their fixture list and being on it every game 3 times a week.

europa tho

Not the same when you can rotate and rest like Arsenal and Utd have. It still has an effect from a preparation perspective but the players don’t look as physically spent as the CL teams (but still look tired)

yeah but have to give credit where you are good enough to do that and still win and progress. we'd not have to luxury to rotate in the europa league if we wanted to go through

It’s funny had them lot not been doing so well I think the majority of spurs fans would be more happy. It’s been a pretty tough ride under Conte this season but results have actually been really good and we haven’t been fluking it like we did under Jose

Yea I think arsenal was one of the lest rotated sides in the league

Arsenal have a better squad than people give them credit for tbh. Will still be looking to sign a coupla players in Jan too.

The point with Arsenal more is that the key players like Partey (less than 90 mins in the europa), Odegaard (only two starts), Saka (only two starts), Jesus (two starts), Saliba (only played twice). Have been able to keep their players fresh.

Whereas Kane (played every single minute in CL) has played almost as many minutes in the CL as they have in the europa combined. So has PEH, Bentancur, Son (until injury) etc.

Its not really a complaint just an observation as why the CL teams look extra-gassed in a league that most teams are exhausted with the regular schedule.

Maybe this isnt the right way to do it, but if I was Southgate and I knew my definites for the World Cup (who play European football and regular minutes for club). I think those players shouldnt have played in the last international break as it is more important that they are fresh than integrated.

Kane, Saka, Sterling, Foden should possibly have been left at home. Cos Kane and Sterling have been ran to the ground at club level and are going to be facked and probably useless for England this tournament.
