I think my grip should be ok.. I watched a few videos and picked a solid one that seems to work. The ol'il interlocked fingers

I feel like it might be the feet thing. Having never had lessons it's hard to get that right.

I've watched plenty of Chris Ryan vids. He is good but Nick Faldo is another level when it comes to teaching about feel shots. How to draw or fade the ball. The GOAT.
