Just watched the programme about gay footballers. Good documentary I thought. Amazing to see the pictures of John Fash from 1990 saying that he wouldnt want to share a changing room with his brother. Even the clip from the BBC documentary saying that he died "in shame" would never be handled the same way now.

looked like it was on match of the day or something. he said it clear as day - something like 'there is no way i would want to change with him, or even get near him, and that's me talking'.
the documentary was made fash's daughter (justin fashanu's neice). it was thought provoking and very well made.

I think his reaction probably an indication of the fear which the association engendered at that time.
On a lighter note she went to watch brighton against leeds where all the leeds fans were chanting "does your boyfriend know youre hear ?" and "we can see you holding hands"
Anywho - im going to the Lane tomorrow. Cant wait
