It's fun talking to yourself isn't it?
That's what happens when you filter people who talked to you....
right, quickfire quiz.
what the fak do i do next week ?
go
you can actually get a decent hotel in town for £60 a night. that's not too bad. take something for 10 days while i sort out what im doing
We care. We really really care.
Home time.
I wish you a pleasant evening JPB.
ooooooooooo it looks like weekends are more expensive
what's bournemouth like in the winter ?
ok, sooooo thinking out loud.
the first step i want to take in connection with my business, is to meet up with a guy who has said i might be able to use a desk at his office. so maybe i should find out when he's available to meet, and plan going back around that ?
i think that's got to be step one.
i cant really decide on anything until after that meeting, so until then AT LEAST, i cant really rent anywhere, so will need to stay in a hotel.
let's say i assume that i will stay in a hotel in my home town for 2 weeks.
why 2 weeks ?
because i need to get my suit cleaned before i meet this guy - that'll take 2 days ine england.
then at best, the result of the meeting will be, have a think about it.
got to think about it for at least 5 days.
then a couple of days to sort things out.
so say 10 days in the hotel.
then either move down to next to his office and find a hotel there for say 10 days while i find somewhere to rent, or take the hotel im in for another 10 days while i find somewhere to rent somewhere else.
so that's 20 days in a hotel * £80 = £1600 up front.
plus travel.,,,,maybe rent a car for 3 weeks....
20 days * £50 (inc petrol) = £1000
so with food and that
£300 for 3 weeks.
3k i mean
is that tax deductable does anyone know ?
i wouldnt be able to take a long term rental or buy a car though after 3 weeks, unless i dropped straight into some work, so assume give it 7 weeks as a trial to see if im likely to get any work in.
weeks 4-7 with rented car, but short term rental, say £1500 for month. so with the car, and a month's food etc, say £750 for that = £3250 for weeks 4-7.
say £1500 on business related costs =
£3000
£3250
£1500
=====
say£7,500 for a 7 week trial.
then either jack it in and go to.......................errrrr...................................
ok, dont jack it in.
get a flat say £1500 a month, plus £750, plus £250 business = £2,500 per month * 5 months = £12,500
plus my £7,500
= £20,000 for 6 months.
plus a 2nd hand car and fuel, insurance etc, say £10l
= £30k for 6 months to get the business going.
ok, im prepared to write off £30k but have to get enough work in to pay the bills within 6 months.
say 30 day payment terms, invoiving at end of month, so say 4.5 months to get up to covering costs.
£2,500 plus car = £3k per month
so £3k net.
say 30%ish tax = c£4k per month billing.
say £60 an hour = c70 hours per month.
= around 50% of my time billable within 4.5 months.
office rental
how much is a fakin office ?
looks like you can get something for under £100 a week.
* 26 weeks = £2,500.
aint going to break the bank.
say £5k then extra on business set up costs during that period.
could i sleep in the office ?
so
£1000 a week for 3 weeks
£800 a week for 4 weeks
£400 a week after that
ah, noone can live off £400 a week. something's gone wrong there.
missed the car out didnt i
also you can double the £750 a month for living expenses.
maybe just hire a small car for a bit.
The good news thread.
You are aving a larf................
this is going to be expensive.
but it could be quite good fun
