Long forgotten about the Ronaldo hat-trick and can barely remember it being talked about in the last 20 years so can't be that over-rated.
The Gerrard one is just anti-Liverpool nonsense. THE great captains performance, dragged Liverpool back into a game the were well beaten in to go on and win the CL with his home city team. I don't support Liverpool but that is the defining CL final in my eyes, the best there has ever been to see something so Roy of the Rovers take place on that stage.
Ronaldo Euro 2016 - fair enough.
Everything City related that has been down to financial doping, I feel nothing when they win something, complete emptiness, it holds no weight and I don't support an English team but usually there's a compelling story that you can enjoy in another teams success for City, nothing.
Any time Real Madrid win the CL is pretty close, ah Real have won again, feels like it's just a season with an absence of a story.

Let's test out this one then - Maradona's solo goal against England in '86.
Labelled goal of the century. Was it? A great turn and acceleration on halfway and then he pretty much ran in a straight line whilst England's midfield and defence made the kind of inept attempts at tackles that you'd see from hungover players in their 40's all over the country on a Sunday morning. Then to end it, Shilton commits himself feet first - in doing so actually making himself smaller rather than narrowing angles. Unsurprisingly the best player in the world rounded him to score.
It's a great goal, sure. One of the best ever scored?! Questionable.

Awful pitch, for starters - the ball was bobbling and bouncing the whole run. Little feints to deceive defenders and the 'keeper. Add in the fact it was a World Cup quarter, so very high profile, high pressure game. Definitely one of the best goals ever scored, imo.

Match fixing was rife in Italy in the mid 2000s.
Milan has massive money on the draw but couldn't believe how bad Liverpool were in that first half. They then let in a soft header and shot and conceded a pen which they very nearly messed up by saving. As soon as it went 3-3 they regained control.
Something VERY dodgy about that match. It'll come out one day.

Absolutely.
The sequence of average results were largely the consequences of simulation and/or thuggery.
Cheatiest cheats of the EPL era.
A sequence neatly sandwiched between defeats by the superior squad of the time.
Which was no coincidence.

people have decided to forget that he was atrocious in the first 45 and largely responsible for Liverpool being 3 goals down by the break; he simply couldn't cope with Milan's midfield and failed to protect Liverpool's defence. The introduction of Dietmar Hamann is actually what enabled Liverpool to get back into that game and take it to penalties. Overrated

No he wasnt, but glad you realised in the end why we couldnt cope first half was Rafa got it wrong and changed the shape bringing didi on.
