4 subs being used and still no Buonanotte?

posted 3 weeks, 5 days ago

Yeah the Buonanotte decision is ridiculous. Can’t fathom that one. Very reminiscent of Coopers bizarre Fatawu omission

If Top has any interest in this club he should consider sacking all of the directors immediately after this match
But we all know he will just bury his head in his hands and hope that things will improve.
We all know that they won't understand current regime.

Willing to give RvN time but there have been some pretty big red warning lights from his tenure so far. A spirited 4 points from the first 2 but outplayed in both, and then 2 out and out pastings. Baffling team selection today and weird substitutions.

It was a bonkers appointment let’s be honest. A lot of us felt that. No track record at this level, limited experience at such a critical time.

Can't blame manager, the whole club is rotten to the core.
Complete rudderless ship,no direction,no leadership,no hope.

He hasn’t even brought in an assistant manager, what’s that all about?

Obviously Top made a mistake in getting rid of a lucky manager with a proven Premier League survival record for someone with zero experience in battling down the bottom.

Or maybe Ruud is finding out first hand just how awful Rudkin is, with awful recruitment leading to having to play Danny Ward in goal?

He certainly didn’t make a mistake in getting rid of Cooper. Defensively we weren’t much better and statistically were giving away a huge amount of chances to the opposition

His mistake was appointing him in the first place and then trying to address by making an even more catastrophic decision.

2 bad calls which will send us down. Of course to be fair to both managers - neither have had a pot to p1ss in this season
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I will of course continue to point out that we were not in a relegation spot under Cooper.

We aren’t in a relegation spot under Van Nistlerooy - yet it doesn’t look like a great appointment does it?

You can’t look at the league table at any given week before we’re halfway through to make an assessment. There’s a lot more to it than whether we’re in the drop zone or not

Leicester have conceded the most chances (shots) of any PL this season. That didn’t start under Ruud - it’s been consistent through the season. You can’t keep playing like that and stay up - Cooper wasn’t addressing it and Ruud hasn’t been able to (unsurprisingly) in the 4 games he’s had

Let’s put it this way Nuneaton - Ranieri had a 28% win ratio in the season we sacked him. Cooper had a 21% win ratio at Leicester

I don’t think we were in the bottom 3 when Ranieri was sacked - so by your logic you would have held onto him. We all know what happened when we correctly fired him - it changed our season and we never looked back on our way to top 5 and FA cup success 3 or 4 of seasons later

So you can see why Top made the change - Coopers win ratio was lower than a lot of managers who get the chop. The mistake is not understanding the wider reason behind the form (it’s far more than just cooper) and arguably making a worse decision with Ruud

Let's face it, we may never have been in the bottom 3 under Cooper, but we never played like a team that looked likely to survive under him either. By my reckoning, of the 24 halves of PL football under him, we probably played well in 4 of them (1st half against Palace, Bournemouth; 2nd half against Spurs, Southampton).

Cooper just didn't show anywhere near enough to suggest he's a PL manager. His win record across 2 and a bit seasons is poor. And then there was the Forest connection - something he could never shake off, not did he seem to want to. You can't have your biggest rivals rocking up to your home ground, batter you and their fans sing your name for half an hour and expect to survive.

The jury is out on Ruud and the signs aren't looking good, but he is hamstrung by injuries to key players and having to play Cooper's team, with all the aging and useless slop he signed. I sincerely hope that he wasn't lied to about our January plans, because we need to have one hell of a window to stand a chance of survival.

Ultimately, it's too early to tell whether RvN will be any good or not. There was certainly an initial upward trajectory, even though the performances weren't great and the xG against was appalling. Now we are getting the wallopings we should have been getting under Cooper. His team selection and subs today were not good, but I still think he'll need some time to try and figure out what the hell he can do with this squad.

At the end though, whether the manager is Enzo, Cooper or Ruud, when you have an owner and board who are so abject in just about every way imaginable, and who's mismanagement of the club has been so profoundly destructive, maybe none of this really matters anyway. We feel like a club that has thrown everything away and is now destined for a prolonged period outside the top flight. It didn't have to be this way, yet here we are.

Absolutely echo that Foxello. It’s pointless arguing about Cooper, Ruud or Maresca when the common denominator is the ownership. Until the King Power sells up - it will go from bad to worse. Time for the fans to act
