Saka isn't back until March realistically.

I know sterling wasn't used but he was an option.

Now we don't have either for a very long time.

Mbuenmo would a brilliant options but we are not going to spend in excess of 50M in Jan

We have a lot of options to cover the injury and spending big in January is unlikely with the rules.
Dropping 50/60/70 million on a Saka back up is ridiculous anyway.

Unless we sell someone like Trossard and get in a similar type of signing we will keep our powder dry for the summer.

I have it on good authority that we are fine with PSR.
A Semenyo is not a back up; it is completion that could potentially relegate Martinelli and Trousaard to the bench if they continue to be poor.

We shouldn't sign a back up to Saka, we should however sign a first teamer for either CF or LW (should be doable as our current options are fairly average) and make it work with either them or one of our current front line in Saka's position until he returns.

Don't think anyone can argue that we're a bit short on quality up top and have been for a while regardless of Saka being fit.

Why can’t we. We have the money and wriggle room with PSR.
The league is my priority. If we do not strengthened in Jan, we can kiss that good bye.
Arteta dropped a hint to the owners in the presser by saying we have one of the thinnest squad of the contenders.

Well, this sounds encouraging. I wonder if you’d be prepared to share your source?

I assume we signed Sterling on loan as we were restricted by PSR to bring in a genuine target on a permanent, rather than a deadline day opportunity signing.

Assuming that was the reason, what’s changed since then?

I do not believe so. Neto and Sterling seem to have filled our loan quota.

We don't have much "wiggle room" on PSR, hence why we jumped at the Sterling deal. If we want to buy a striker in the summer any spending this window will massively impact that.

The likes of Sterling will return to Chelsea in the summer. Sale of Zin and Kiwior and Vieira will bring in funds. We will be fine in the summer.

Not if we spend £60-£70m this window...Would have to make that plus more and you aint doing that on Zinchenko, Kiwior, Vieira even if you add Sambi, Nuno, Tierney to that.

Clubs have to plan financially over a number of windows not just this one. We are on the same budget this window as we were in the summer when we broke even.

we'd be lucky to get £2.50 and a packet of crisps for those two
