Having to listen to the dreadful TalkSport for the second half. Stuart Pearce described James Justin as Man City's best player.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah he’s spot on. Sooner we get Ricardo back the better

I mean there’s mucb better performances under Ruud I’ll say that - aside from Wolves of course - against Liverpool and City we’ve carried a threat.
posted 3 days, 21 hours ago
At the end of the day what could cost us here is yet another defensive mistake. That’s ultimately what this season boils down to
posted 3 days, 21 hours ago
Probably the best decision Ruud has made since he came in - Justin off for Choudhury
posted 3 days, 21 hours ago
Oh Christ, Choudhury on for Justin. Down to 10 men in actuality soon then.

Dreadful defending. This time from Hamza unfortunately. I still think that goes in with Justin on the pitch - there’s no way he stops that cross

Justin would have cut it out 🚕

True.
Bring Cannon and Souttar back and try something a bit more radical. It's not working with what we have - Vardy could do with support and so could the defence.

Choudhury is bad enough as a midfielder
Is he really a right back?

Nope. Maresca to thank for that - one of his absolutely bonkers decisions that seems to have stuck
In fairness to Ruud - Justin has been so unbelievably bad that he probably felt any other option was better and I tend to agree with him.

When you look at that bench you realise how absolutely hamstrung any manager is. The quality of the squad is unbelievably poor.
posted 3 days, 21 hours ago
This day age you need a minimum
6 quality subs let alone a squad of 22

Souttar has played enough games at Sheffield to trigger a clause that allows them to keep him for the season. That's beside the fact he is now injured.

In fairness to them today we've not played too badly - and the stats back that up. Certainly more positive than in most of the other games this season.
That being said, if most of your squad is of woeful quality (as 98 points out above), you have to take any chances - and we just haven't.

Agree with both of you
The lack of quality definitely shows,
Not taking chances,especially vardy today,,
Individual quality overall is poor,

Yep - reminds me of many a relegation season this! Even the good performances lead to losses - ultimately at this level you need good enough players and we don’t have that.
Part of the blame falls to Cooper for driving a truly awful summer window and a bigger part of the blame sits with the ownership for getting us into a financial situation where we had limited options

A better performance and could have taken a point with better finishing.
Not helped by the performance of Michael Oliver.
Think this was the worst game I have seen him officiate.
Totally inconsistent and seemed reluctant to book any player for Man city.
He has turned into another Mike Dean,in a few seasons he has gone from being one of the best refs to one of the worst.
Inconsistent and incompetent.

Soumer El Khannouss

Yes, he got stuck in and was impressive throughout. I hope he has earned his place for the next game. There was some slack marking again at times though but a much better performance than we saw at Anfield.
