Not a big fan of the guy but his point is valid.

People are reluctant to change managers for some reason even though the form since March pretty much justifies it. I think that's a decent amount of time of poor form to suggest someone isn't up to it anymore. Injuries or no injuries, losses have come to us too easily. Only team in the league in that whole period not to have gone unbeaten for more than 2 games. Even Crystal Palace have managed a 5 game unbeaten run.

Yeah i mean even since before March you could argue. End of the day we are midway in the second season. If its not working now then when do we expect it to improve. Do fans really expect everything to click once VDV, Romero and Vicario are back?

Ange says he don’t really care about winning a one off trophy, but wants long term success. What time period? What is success to him? Because if hes saying he wants to make us consistent challengers for the prem, thats never happened in our history and with these owners that will never happen

Romero, VDV and Vic were playing when we lost to Palace, and Romero and Vic for Ipswich. Still lost those games to teams that hadn't won before. Even against Wolves, having your 2 first teams CBs out and the keeper, you should still be beating a 17th placed team in the league at home.

Would having a fully fit team have helped us not concede 28 shots to Galatasaray to our 5? Or Bournemouth's 21 shots? I don't think it would cause that to me suggests something more problematic.

We have Newcastle, Liverpool and Arsenal coming up. Are we going to be satisfied to have what could well be 3 losses and going out in the cup because we are suffering with some injuries? 1 win in 9 and 5 or 6 losses but a ready made excuse that buys Ange more time with fans?

Got bored of that after about thirty seconds. Sit in your room and whinge all you like, but it's boring.

I'm no Ange fan but some of the reactions are pathetic. He's currently 11th in the list of our all time best managers based on win percentage. Just above Bill Nicholson. It's not as terrible as some like to make out. It's just not all that great either.

A new manager might make it worse just look at Man u.
Do you trust Levy to get the appointment right?
Im not saying it would be the wrong to sack him but Levy is the actual problem.

I trust Levy to either make a pig's ear of it or get it accidentally right.

We shouldn't be fearful of changing the manager in case it makes it worse. It might make it better? I mean I can't actually see how it could be much worse at the moment.

The fans need to decide, either force levy out or force Ange out. As long as one goes I don’t really care which.

I would say it’s 99% likely to be Ange though. Not many people knocking around with circa £3bn to spend on a football club.

Therefore, we have to let Levy roll the dice again and hope he lands on a 6 or at least a 5 - faaack it a 3 would be an improvement at the moment

I don’t get all the clamour for Ireola either. The comparisons with Poch I get, but let’s be honest lightining doesnt strike twice in the same place
With Poch a lot came together at the same time. A young coach with a fresh approach, a young team with peak Kane, Dele, Eriksen, defence of Jan and Toby etc and it worked but make no mistake, Levy got lucky as he was the right man at the right time. And the baaastard still wouldn’t back him
I’ll never forgive Levy for that period when everyone knew we needed a few top players and we’d have won major trophies- but he was too busy with stadiums and concerts
He has turned this club into a venue where you can watch football sometimes, merely a brand

Agree with what he said about the squad being short.

I'm still 3 more windows until I think we will have a squad capable of competing on all fronts. If Ange is still there, great but if not the next man will have something to work with.

Alot of talk of us being after a GK, LCB/LB, MID and a FW. They will not all be signed this Jan so three more windows.

Yeah I’d say closer to it this time, maybe the morning of the final or even just before kick off

Yes indeed, Poch was somewhat boosted by the emergence of Kane. We did have some good players in the squad around this time but Poch did sprinkle some magic dust on them to get the likes of Walker, Rose, Dembele up to speed. Some decent recruitment going on as well with Paul Mitchell.

With Poch and with Iraola it's at least someone with experience in the PL, having helped elevate a team into the top half of the table before coming to us. When you look at Ange and his experience in rubbish leagues only, it can only fill you with doubts. Plus Iraola has that sort of classy and calm demeanour about him, something I liked about Poch. Ange is tetchy all the time with interviewers. It's not the best look is it?

Not a great look when the manager can hardly speak english or make sense after spending 6+ years in the league either.

comment by Spurtle (U1608)

Never heard that as a criticism of Poch before. I'd rather a manager be calm and not speak perfect English than a manager throwing toys out of the pram when results don't go for us, in perfect English.

Most of all I just want better results.

posted 1 week, 6 days ago

I never used to watch any of Poch's interviews after while. He just never made sense. I don't watch many of Ange's either. Would a happy clapper manager after a defeat make you happy?

Such a weird point to make and of course you exaggerated the whole throwing your toys out of the pram thing.

would u keep your current wife thats cheating on you, just because you broke up with previous wives who cheated on you and you’ve had enough of breaking up?
---

Not an Angeiner but this metaphor only covers a part of why a lot of fans aren't calling for his head. For me it's more like: would you get a divorce cos your wife keeps making crappy dinners even though all you buy is frozen ready meals?

Yeah you might find a wife that can make them slightly more palatable. But you'd also likely either find one that says 'wtf do you expect from potato smilies and Findus Crispy Pancakes' or just gives it a go but ultimately serves up different versions of the same crap.

Now, if you don't like your wife in the first place that's a different issue. If you particularly don't like the way she prepares your frozen lasagne, fair enough. And yes all the crap food might lead to a divorce even though it's not her fault. But acting like your new wife will come in and make gourmet meals from the same ingredients would be silly. IMO.

I think you know what I mean. He gets irritable in interviews and often takes it out on the interviewer.

I wouldn't be happy after any defeat but yeah I prefer our managers to stay calm in defeat than getting irritable and defensive. It's all about how you portray yourself in the media. Not a fan when Jose used to do/does it either.

posted 1 week, 6 days ago

I have no problem with a manager being annoyed after losing a game. If he was calm, the narrative would be "He doesn't care".
