3 points clear at the top …

Happy to be at the top. A lot of over reactions on here. A draw will happen from time to time! Blackburn made it very difficult to break them down but we should have held on at 1-0.

Felt some of the selections were wrong yesterday. Would have started Joseph and Ramazani but easy to say that after the game. Would have took James off rather than Solomon too who was playing well. Not sure whats happening with Schmidt but I hope he gets a start against Harrogate to show what he can do.

Blackburn are not a good side but may squeeze in to the play offs. A decent manager but would you want us to play and defend like that? Not me. Much prefer our style.

Overall was a decent Christmas results wise and we normally do pretty bad.

Happy New Year

all in all, happy with the results.. done really well, squad rotated pretty well, think we showed what a decent squad we actually have.

Losing points like that at times will be very serious in the end ! We could have gone 5 points clear, but no this is Leeds United we're talking about, I rest my case. Am livid.

all evens out in the end MRU...

defo two points dropped, not arguing there.

Sheff Utd lost, and Burnley drew also... we gained if anything... you can't live in hindsight and what could have been.

A Sheff U fan would be equally as gutted, more so, Burnley too... 'what could have been'

mate, if your sister was man, he'd be your brother.. chin up.

It's the passion getting the best of me - Sunderland won though...

So when you look at the Christmas period Sheffield utd have completed fallen apart, four from a possible 12

https://www.footballwebpages.co.uk/championship/form-guide/four

So over Christmas only two teams, Oxford and Burnley stayed within a game of us.

I honestly don't get the reaction to the game, it was disappointing to drop two points but we still have pulled away and can continue to do so if we keep doing what we have been doing these last few games

We were 2 or 3 points behind ShefU not to long ago, now we're 3 points infront, even if they got their 2pts back they'd still be behind us!..

People always digging into our team even though we are the form team, they should think on, it's upto those behind us to catch us!..

So, for those of you's that always say we're the best team in this league, try looking to the positives and bring the 12th man into play!..

Outwood👍 - agreed, we should have found a way of holding the lead and that was disappointing.

Spanish HNY🥳 - yep, squad rotation seems to be working for us.

MRU - I do understand the frustration but half a season to go fella👍.

Matty - yes indeed👏. I thought we had a great Christmas and have outperformed our nearest rivals.

Obviously the key is to keep this form going into the new year when in the past we’ve had a slump post-Christmas. To be still in the top two come end of January is the next task methinks👍.

Germany, yep. I’m genuinely delighted with our league position and didn't know what to expect after we lost key players last August. To be out in front atm is fantastic work by DF et al👍

Plenty of time still to walk the league.
Don't think we've peaked yet and farke doesn't know our best 11.

posted 2 weeks, 4 days ago

Really fair point Mont - and I’m not sure I do either 👍😂 (know our best 11).

posted 2 weeks, 4 days ago

Actually Mont, your point has got me thinking (not always a good thing😁) … maybe that’s the whole point of a good squad and squad rotation - there isn’t a ‘best 11’? Mmmm, will cogitate some more but a good point made👍

And remember when we were all moaning about our away form?

Last 4 away matches, we are joint 2nd best, and in last 8 away matches, joint 5th best.

🤷‍♂️

But some always need something to chirp about...and am guessing that "this team ain't good enough for the Prem" will be the new focus as we increasingly cement our promotion likelihood

yeah that annoys me a little too tbf... I mean, we're not in the premier league we don't have to be good enough yet.... all thats something for us to fall about in the summer

It's going to be a huge task next year if we go up. The way the PL is heading it could be hard for any promoted club to stay up.
First year back just solidify team defence to make us hard to beat and then go on from there.
Then again buying 20 players seems to have worked for Forest.

It wasn't my intention to start this debate off NOW !! 🤣🤣

Its nice knowing that if the coach doesn't know his starting 11, that whoever he has in reserve don't make it any worst!.

Along with sack Farke when we are promoted LOL!

Along with sack Farke when we are promoted LOL!

--------------------

thats the one, I'm dragged in .. see the thing about sacking Farke even if we win the league.. I'm usually never in the sacking managers camp, always feel manager should get more time.. rightly or wrongly.. but, I can see why..

As somebody said above, premier league and championship gap is getting bigger, staying in the Premier league and getting it right first time is crucial to building for the years to come.. I mean, I harsh and ruthless move would be to get somebody in for that job.

is the Farke the man?, another debate, can't really afford to get it wrong

posted 2 weeks, 4 days ago

Has a club ever sacked a manager after they’ve got promotion? That would be a massive risk. When you go up the first year, you’ve got momentum and feel good factor. We lose all that if you change manager.

Farke didn’t do well at Norwich in Premier League but they didn’t back him at all.
When we got promoted, we spent £80+million, by comparison Norwich went up and spent £8million, 2nd time they sold their best player. Harsh on Farke to be judged as not cut out for PL based on that
