I haven’t seen many of your games. Has Sterling been good at all or just a non entity?

Yes, Saka faces a long, unpredictable path back to fitness.

Yes, Stan Kroenke has a record of cruising the bins at rival clubs for out-of-favour players.

But Arsenal are skint.Especially after the PSR rules covering owner-issued loans were adjusted in the aftermath of the Man City case.

The best we can hope for is Fabio Vieira coming back early from his loan stint. He was dropped from the match day squad at the last minute over the weekend.

Sterling has only been good in league cup against bad opponents. Can’t do anything right in PL anymore.
Rashford would be a better back up

posted 4 days, 18 hours ago

Arteta likes god fearing, humble characters. Rashford doesn't quite fit that anymore. Rashford has changed since he signed his contract.

I know we enjoy raiding Chelsea's bin but raiding this version of United's would probably be a stretch too far.

Still this could be Silvestre mark II

Damn....just been reminded we still own Sterling

Thanks....

Just need to make the Neto deal permanent

posted 4 days, 17 hours ago

If he took a significant wage cut, I'd be happy to buy Rashford. Or he and United came to some agreement to terminate his contract, I'd still be happy to meet his current wages plus a modest bonus, having got him for no transfer fee. I still think there's a player there that's worth a risk.

It's bad enough that our 2nd-choice keeper is a 35 year old loanee from Bournemouth. The worst thing we could do is make it permanent.

Signing Neto was a typical Kroenke kneejerk reaction.

We had to balance the books after a considerable cash outlay, so we cashed in on Ramsdale. Time was running out, so we picked up the phone and went for a "temporary" fix.

Same thing with Raheem Sterling. We cashed in on ESR/Eddie. Which went straight into the bank.

If something ever happened to Raya, I'd much rather take a gamble on one of the kids in the reserves.

"I reckon £25 million will be a decent deal"

Christ, they'll make that back in 12 months if he finds a burst of form.

That's what robb is proposing we give them

Bottomline is I don't see Man U doing this, but if situation becomes sufficiently toxic for him there, I'd want us to swoop in. We're VERY short in attack. With Saka and Havertz out, only attacking sub we had on the bench was Trossard.

I doubt anyone would give us more than that. Considering he cost us nothing it would be a great profit

No. It was a mistake by Edu. He thought he had agreed a deal for Joan Garcia. But he didn't want to sign him till Ramsdale was sold. That took longer than anticipated and when Edu went back for him, Garcia's parent club started attracting interest from Real Madrid. So the deal fell apart.

Neto was an emergency loan.

Yeah, we could buy the next Zirkzee to replace him.

I'm pretty clear in my views of Rashford, but he's also a valuable asset and we saw against Newcastle how much you need pace in Amorims setup. If we can't replace him, we shouldn't sell him.

posted 4 days, 16 hours ago

Lets be clear. Most clubs would welcome a fully motivated Rashford. But that is in question and who wants to take a risk on a player earning more than £300k a week? The only way Utd will be able to sell Rashford is by eating all his salary and then Rashford signing a new deal on a lower wage with a new club.

I’d love him to stay but I just don’t think Amorim wants him in the side and Rashford has already said he’s leaving so I’ve given up hope of him staying

Or hoping he plays his way into form, at Utd or on loan.

I'm sure the Rashford of 2 seasons ago would've been sold with ease.

Rashford’s words..

"For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps," he said.
"When I leave it's going to be ‘No hard feelings’. You’re not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That’s me as a person.
"If I know that a situation is already bad, I'm not going to make it worse. I've seen how other players have left in the past and I don't want to be that person.
"When I leave I'll make a statement, and it will be from me."

What's changed since then? We had the same issue after Ozil signed a new deal. Sometimes players need the feeling of career jeopardy to perform.

Players take wage cuts when they’re ready to move clubs all the time.
