Mmm.....
3 defeats then
Burnley ( draw ) 0-0
Portsmouth ( win ) 4-0
Luton ( loss ) 2-1 - very much a freak result
WBA (win) 2-1
Mood improves , things feel better all around
Leeds, Sheffield Weds and Bristol City ( losses ) and the doom and gloom arises. If you catch snippets of what's said on FB or Tw@tter it's like a complete bloodbath!
I expected a tough month after the Leeds match and wouldn't be surprised if we struggle against Leyton Orient and lose a few more. We have a weak squad with a manager whose coaching abilities are lower half of the Championship. Everyone at the beginning of the season said we're going to be in a ding dong battle and the aim is to scrape over the line and avoid relegation.
We're living the moment and experiencing exactly what we had predicted close season. I'm not entirely sure what we're surprised/outraged by given the level of performances and quality of players. We've lost our better players to injury. The next level of players are in between loss of form , fatigued etc so there's that to take into consideration along with our drop of form post Christmas regardless who is in charge.
If Nyambe, Cashin, Adams, Ozoh were all to return 100% match fit and raring to go we know they'll all be selected.
Who we manage to shift out and bring in will give these players a much needed lift. Nyambe and Adams helped us considerably last season, we need to find some more inspired signings to aid our aging, blunt attacking force.

I’m neither surprised nor outraged, just giving some opinions based on what I’ve seen. No question we are missing important players and assuming they get back to speed quickly when they return we should pick up enough points to stay up. There is not a great deal of enjoyment to be had at the moment though. I’ve spent the best part of 24 hours driving around the country for the last 3 away games and there has not been a lot to cling onto on the long drives home.

More in response to the reaction of the fans in general, no doubt your moan in fans on RD on a Monday etc.....

There are plenty of idiots at away matches who are getting increasingly vocal. It doesn’t help anybody. They would say they are entitled to express their opinion but almost invariably the ones responsible are young lads off their head on ale and powder so their opinions are not what you might call measured or expressed in an especially cogent manner.

Do they have anyone on live anymore? Just seem to read out emails when I've been bothered to listen? đ¤ˇâď¸

Well it's good to read all the sensible, measured and reasonable comments on here. No-one on ale and/or powder thank goodness.
It's quite simple really - if our current squad can stay injury-free we are more than capable of a mid-table finish. As Vidal says it's not always a good watch but it is to PW's credit that we can say "we are where we are" given our squad and administration trauma.
But of course there is no way we will stay injury-free and we clearly need more in, which means we will have to lose some first. David Clowes is not personally going to splash the clash thank goodness so unless we get another investor in we are going to have to accept a roller-coaster end to this season. If some fans cannot accept this then shame on them.

Yes, excellent debate tonight, I think, with callers expressing a range of insightful opinions.
No 'idiots', they never seem to ring in, for some reason đ¤
