Dan burn should have been sent off at 1-1
Deliberate handball to stop a counter
Unless there has been another rule change their goal shouldn’t have stood either …..accidental or not I thought if a handball takes place which leads to a goal it’s no goal
Officials definitely facked us today but I thought we played well…..especially 2nd half

Agree. Newcastle got all the important decisions.
Not overly worried about results right now. I know absolutely full strength they would take teams like Newcastle to the cleaners.

Goals never feel right when a handball is involved and refs shouldn't be allowing ithem whether it's intentional or not.
Although the second half was alot better than the first we still gave their keeper very little to do and as has often been the case this season the opposition didn't have to play that well to beat us.

It's just what happens to Spurs. Had both those handball been Spurs hands, it would have been a disallowed goal, and a 2nd yellow.
posted 1 week, 3 days ago
There was me hoping Newcastle would keep the score down second half when we had zero centre backs on the pitch.
But then we introduce 3 of our better footballers on the pitch and we progressed better as a team up the pitch and Newcastle lost all control they had.
Missing our better players make a massive difference and our defenders can’t come back quick enough:

We've been hosed on both handball decisions and it's cost us 3 points.

Spurs won't get relegated. There are some seriously bad teams at the bottom. When they get all their better defence back, they will win plenty.
Unlucky to have the worse injury crisis in my lifetime. Then they have to play against the current top four more or less in consecutive matches with Arsenal up next.
Plenty of games they will get comfortable wins. Cups has to be the way forward this season.

Judge the team March/April when hopefully lots of the better players will have returned.

Yes, exactly this!
This ref should be sent packing to championships!
Refused to issue any more yellows to Dan Burn, as if he wanted to ensure no sending off, even of the Burn too a hacksaw cut our players legs!
He let a few of their dirty hacks on our players go unpunished.
At corners, their guy was pulling down to the ground our players, but the ref waved the play on. Talk about a clueless official!
They did have luck on their side. Some of their clearances were very poor but by luck fell to their own players.
We did get away with giving that ginger minger a bloody nose, and the refs didn't even see the incident or give them a pen. The ref added 10mins too, which is a bit of mystery to me.
Madders shot jut eluded the far post, and the BJ shot that hit the same post!
Unlucky. I feel like Young Archie is started to be a little sloppy but without rest, I do understand.
Strange how Levy gets away with. If this was Liverpool there would be a riot in the city!
Even when it is obvious we need quality players in asap, we have no one in yet even though transfer market is open??
in 2015, Liverpool lacked a few quality players, and when they got thrashed by us, 4-1...Their club wet spent huge amount in bringing in quality experienced players asap and helped Klopp to be able to continue his plan. The club went out and plugged the holes
Oiur club's chairman sat on his posh seat counting momney and no purchase yet but we despearately need some.

On the handballs - the goal is incredibly annoying, but based on the rules as they stand, I think we'd have been lucky to have it ruled out. The rule is idiotic though as they gained a massive advantage from a handball - intentional or not.
Burn was a clear second yellow and the ref completely bottled it, no other explanation for it.
posted 1 week, 3 days ago
The Burn one should have been a second yellow. He had both arms stretched out. It's basically the very definition of a handball in the rulebook, made himself bigger etc and it stopped a promising attack.
The goal has to be given, for me.

Why should it be handball if the ball hits the hand? It’s no different to hitting any other body part, if there’s no intent and no use of the arm.
