Tbf to him, I think Young junior has made one substitute appearance all season and is a defender?
Peterboro still had a chance of winning the game at 0-1, so he brought on attacking players, and had used all the subs when they went 2-0 down, so had no option to bring him on then.
No doubt if he had brought him on at 0-1, and they lost 0-2, people would have accused him of pandering to the media rather than trying to get a result.
I don't feel he's done anything wrong in this case.

kinsang, I see you are new to this game. The point is to joint the pile on without thinking, and before long we're all jumbled up in a glorious mound of hate.

, sadly I've been on these boards for longer than most, although I do go through periods of 'inactivity'.
Good bants is great, but it can be difficult to get a good discussion on here before it gets hijacked............

Had Everton done what they should have done and soundly beaten a lower league side then he'd probably have got on the pitch!

He did what every manager should be doing and tried to get a result. He felt bringing on a midfielder with twenty odd minutes to his name thus far, just because his father was brought on with 17 minutes remaining wasn't the right choice when chasing the game at 1-0. Hard to disagree with that.

This!
They were chasing a 1 goal lead up till the 98th minute and people wanted him to just throw the kid on. If he’d been an attacking player and not a midfielder, then he’d have had more chance.
Any decent manager have taken into account the footballing gods. By subbing on young Young, it was inevitable that old Young would have brought him down for a penalty. Poor management.

Having seen Young's antics over the years it's much more likely he'd have dived in the box under challenge from young Young and then two footed him from behind at the other end.
That’s for the gods to decide, not Darren Ferguson.
Darren Ferguson is the ultimate nepo baby in the football world and thus should have passed on the blessing to another nepo baby. Instead he is now going to be known as the dumbass who denied a dream father son matchup.
If they really want to be on the pitch at the same time then Ashley Young should perhaps sign for Posh.
