Outwood, apologies. Did a sh 1 t job explaining that.

Twisted side of me wants to speed up the inevitable.

I believe history tells us that Farke can get you promoted. But, it also strongly suggests he'll take you back down. Backing is the X factor. Did he have it prior?

What we do know is last season and this, he's found to be lacking in necessary skills to work at the highest level.

I believe Meslier is a poor keeper at this level. And
a very poor keeper at Prem level.

Farke is hitching his football wagon to the Meslier donkey. LUFC is hitching onto Farke. Bad idea IMO.

And so my feeling is, do we go through with this all
the way to the inevitable conclusion: they both fail.

Or should we cut bait now and find replacements
for both? I say that from my twisted side. Not my
rational side.

I agree Batts and I think when our normal back 4 are playing against Shef Wed they would feel a lot happier too to have a keeper that they are not on tenterhooks worrying about whether or not Meslier is going to make yet another basic costly error that is like a business
having an employee steal ftom you and damage your
profits...they wouldn't put up with it and so needn't
should Leeds...sentiment and ego by Farke has to be
removed and for the good of the team and the fans watching, Meslier needs to be benched.

Batty.. just to be clear here, because I’ve read your last comment a few times and really can’t tell.

You want to sack the manager now? Bring in a new manager and a new goalkeeper now? Mid season?

Do you not think this would create an unnecessary distraction from us trying to win promotion? Literally after the best Christmas period I can remember as a Leeds fan?! Top of the league and it doesn’t even feel like we’re out 2nd gear yet? All because mes has made a few mistakes?

That sounds like the craziest thing on gods green earth mate.

I actually agree ref farke, and mes… but there’s a time and a place for clubs to make big, ruthless and ambitious/ potentially risky changes.

Have any idea how this would affect the dressing room?

Getting promoted this year is main goal… let’s wait till the summer before ripping the teams dynamic please.

Absolutely nothing like that scenario at all!

Mes done nothing illegal! He’s made a few errors on the pitch for gods sake.. all players lose form, goalkeepers too this is why clubs have a number 2.

If you’ve ever played in sports teams.. and someone letting the team down on more than one occasion, the best way to help everyone concerned is to show solidarity… a split in the camp could be way more damaging to team.

Let’s please bare in mind we have 5 months now to grantee promotion

Yes, play your number 2 if you feel you need to, hell even with a new goal keeper if you really need to.

Not one for sentiment in football in a lot of situations, because it’s a ruthless game sometimes! But a player who been with us, and has been previously generally sound for many years, right back to premier league football with Bielsa, makes a few mistakes and you compare him to thief and want him out!

Absolute nonsense

Not convinced by Darlow. Flapped a few times yesterday against a second division team. Distribution not that good.

Most keepers would have done what he did yesterday as it was basic keeping. Yes even Meslier.

Farke knows his players and I assume he listens to what they say.

No way are we buying a keeper this window. Unless one leaves.

Batty, you’re our very own Arsenal Fan TV aren’t you. All them wild outrageous reactionary views all in rolled up into one fan.

You’ll be accusing Farke of war crimes soon.

Maybe you should start on YouTube. Could be money in it for you. Works for them and Goldbridge doesn’t it.

I really don't care what you think Spanish the analogy was to show how unacceptable Meslier's presence in the team is now it wasnt meant to be taken literally like Im implying Meslier has got his hands in the till in real life and done something ilegal...if you can't see that then
you must have a blind spot like Farke seems to have and others on here too....basically elite sport is a high pressure ruthless environment that unfortunately for Meslier at Leeds he appears to find too much and I hope the club can sign a replacement this month and Meslier can be respectfully let go of and sold to another club with less pressure and expectation where I believe he can flourish.

Oh fair play 👍.. so people can say things and not mean them literally mate?

Just so we can define the rules 👍

Thing is Meslier was fine last season. I don’t remember anyone saying this about him last year, he was not an issue. He didn’t do anything amazing but I can’t think of any goals that was massive errors?

Farke didn’t prioritise a new keeper because Meslier was not an issue really. Now he is, but his alternative is someone who’s barely played for a few years. Not easy decision to make

posted 13 hours, 15 minutes ago

Based on what DF has said, if we sign a keeper now, it’ll be the greatest turn-around since Lazarus.

posted 12 hours, 4 minutes ago

Farkes not gonna come out and say yes Meslier is rubbish and he wont play again is he? Bielsa would never have come out and slagged his players off either.

Doesn't mean he isnt thinking about the gk position. I think he will be replaced when we are promoted

You can go back all the way to our last season in the Prem and people had an issue with Meslier. And on
this forum. I know I did. Meslier's gift to Seamus Coleman was one of the many head scratchers.

The worst goaltending error ive ever seen, much worse than the Sunderland bounce, I was fuming that day.

Yeah there’s been doubts about Meslier for at least 3 seasons now.

There wasn’t much panic to start with because he could have turned it around and was worth sticking with to see if he could.

The chances of that happening now appear so slim though.

Suspect there would have been more talk about replacing him last summer had it not being for the much bigger issues with Summerville, Rutter & Gray all going.

Had we been promoted I would have expected a new number 1 to come in.

All good points.

I think we were all very happy with Meslier when
he came in for Casilla. Breath of fresh air. And he
did look very promising first two seasons.

Maybe this falls on a lack of coaching? I do think
(and I know I've said it) he needs a new club. A
club that has very good keeper coaches. Help
him get better. There's still time for him. But for
me that has to be with another club. Tired of him.

Yeah there have been doubts and he was poor last 2 PL seasons. But last year he wasn’t an issue, I don’t remember seeing any comments in summer saying we needed a keeper
