Imo, These players need the hustle and bustle experience of lower leagues before they are dumped into the 1st team. Fans don’t see what managers and coaches see week in week out on the training pitch.

When the club don’t sign a much needed centre back, and the managers says he is happy with that and his current squad, including dorrington, then he should play dorrington. Or stop fa cking moaning about injuries. If you don’t rotate, you get injuries. Look at Spence. If he had played more, udogie might not be out for 6 weeks.

The worry with Werner and BJ yesterday is they both looked worse than the Tamworth forward Enoru - a guy who will be working at Zara’s today whilst Timo and BJ will do about 3 hours in world class facilities in North London.
BJ for all his faults, is our top scorer - based purely on that, I am going to move on from him, because he can at least finish his dinner.
Timo - the man adds nothing, absolutely nothing to the side and more often than not is a detractor. I put my hands up, I said in the summer it seemed a sensible signing given it was cheap cover, but I was horribly wrong. You cannot convince me this guy is better than Solomon - a player Leeds fans are raving about, a player we loaned.

Werner is awful but Son was rested and played half an hour. Solanke similar, played about 40 minutes. We won. Job done.
We all know Werner isnt the future, is a stop gap to fill that side. Sadly he has had to play too much due to injuries, and no doubt if Richi was fit then he would have been at 9, Moore & Odobert on the wings.
Relying on Werner is far from ideal but the lineup pretty much picked itself. I am sure if Dom had started and got injured you'd all be crucifying Ange for this too.

I think I know why he picks him above the likes of Moore. Whilst Moore is clearly the better player, his style is a little more self-serving similar to Son. He's less likely to get his head up, take it down the and drive in low crosses. I think Ange is more concerned with output than flashes of individual brilliance. For all Werner's lack of ability in front of goal, you know he's going to face up his man, go on the outside and drive in low crosses. Ange I think likes that because there's a greater chance of scoring from it, with Dom and Brennan on the end of things. Plus he's disciplined in his positioning. He stays wide and stretches the pitch.
He won't be here next year but he does offer something our other wingers don't and I think Ange knows that. That's why he continues to play him time and time again. Problem is he's a confidence player in a league that has no confidence in him, so he's perpetually full of doubt. He needs a fresh start in a new league.

Werner has pace which is key.
Moore is a kid who has missed the last 13 games. He would have no doubt had any more minutes this season if fit and would be eased into the team, as it was at the start of the season getting starts and subs appearances in the PL and EL.
Werner just isn’t good enough and the 8th richest club in the world can go out in January and buy a replacement - even if we’re obligated to keep him on loan until the end of the season.
I think its as a simple as with the injuries the other options probably aren't better players right now, Lankshear will likely be better than Werner but as of today he isn't.
From all accounts Werner is excellent in training, he just gets the yips worse than almost any player I've ever watched.
I actually think he gets a hard time which has made his form worse since last year. When he first came in, his output as a winger was pretty decent. Part of the problem is that he was judged on his goalscoring ability, largely because his time at Chelsea defined him as such. He's not. He's a winger and last season, if you were judging him on that alone, his numbers in terms of good chances created and assists, was actually decent. His output has diminished dramatically since but I don't think it helps when he's out for dinner with his family and some dicccckhead goes up to him and says "Werner, why are you so shiiiiit?". How the hell are supposed to ignore that? The guy has been treated so badly it's no surprise he's not putting the numbers up.
I feel sorry for him. He comes across like a really nice guy and I hope that he ends up somewhere that really appreciates him. God knows he needs it.

100%. It's the yips. There's definitely a player in there. You've only got to look at his Leipzig showreel for evidence of that. His biggest failing is his mentality. It's likely he'll never really get that back. His move to Chelsea was the worst thing he could have ever done.

I think its as a simple as with the injuries the other options probably aren't better players right now, Lankshear will likely be better than Werner but as of today he isn't.
From all accounts Werner is excellent in training, he just gets the yips worse than almost any player I've ever watched.

100%. It's the yips. There's definitely a player in there. You've only got to look at his Leipzig showreel for evidence of that. His biggest failing is his mentality. It's likely he'll never really get that back. His move to Chelsea was the worst thing he could have ever done.
