We might mock, but at least they’re a serious club aiming for success…

Who cares about this guy, hes not even an attacker which is what they mainly need.

Anyway, focus on ourselves

Yeah but my point is that they're signing another big name starter. Forget the position. I just wish we could be that club from time to time.

£750m spent and they are still short up top. Another holding midfielder will help score goals for sure.

Sure but Rice, Zubimendi, Odegaard, Jorginho - great midfield options and they have a top defence and Rays is a good keeper.

If they recruit well in the summer in the forward positions then we aren’t catching them for years.

Our squad and manager are absolute poverty and Levy’s only interested in cheap keepers and loans

I always find it weird when a manager is described as a loser if he has yet to get over the line when he took over from a side languishing outside the European places. Were it not for the greatest side the Prem has ever seen, he'd have bagged two titles. The idea that a man that has overseen this level of progress should go is frankly embarrassing, just as it was when fans called for Poch's head all those years ago. Yes, he's been heavily backed but until this season, they were playing some of the best football in the league. I'm not sure us Spurs fans are in the best position to pick holes in his or Arsenal's progress really.

Just as it's affected us, injuries have cost them. They're defensively solid but they lack potency in attack, partly down to Odegaard's lack of form returning from injury and Saka being out. I don't think any of that is Arteta's fault. Their biggest crime was ignoring the need for a number nine. They could have got Solanke, for instance. We can all appreciate what a fine job he's doing for us and there's no doubt that having a focal target up top would help Arsenal at times like this where Havertz looks as blunt as ever but aside from a striker, I can't really see what else they've done all that wrong.

Also, it might seem weird but I wouldn't rule them out of the CL. The one thing you need in Europe is a solid defence and they've certainly got that.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
They’re basically where we were under Poch.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep - I suspect they will stay patient and it will pay off at some point.

Dropping Poch was a huge error from us, downhill ever since
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It was Levy's single biggest mistake in my opinion. He had his head turned by Mourinho and never looked back (I'm sure I read somewhere he considered him the greatest modern day manager so prob had a bit of a fan boy moment).

I know everyone (Sandy) will say we were rubbish under Poch and been for a while but there were a lot of extenuating circumstances and he had enough in the bank to see that season out at least in my opinion.

Anyway, none of that matters now. Score draw is my prediction for tomorrow. It's quite tiring this season, isn't it.

Yeah and don’t forget that Levy followed that up by sacking Jose 6 days before a cup final.

Faaack knows what Levy was thinking during that period but those decisions hurt us massively.

We went from not spending a penny in an entire summer window under Poch but still finishing 4th and making the Champions league final to…

Being in the top half of the table and on course for Europe, plus a cup final with Jose to…..

People being content with 12th place and being 1-0 up in a league cup semi with Anfield still to come.

Something terrible has happened to this club over the last 5 years that has sucked out its soul and ambition. Like Burkinshaw said, there used to be a football club over there

Yep, I think so, I mean he genuinely would not have got in the Tamworth side ahead of Enoru on Sunday - he is done.

I feel for him, but we can’t be carrying him. He needs to go somewhere like the Eredivisie where defences are wide open and can’t deal with his pace

The funny thing is that if Spurs had achieved what Arsenal have in the last couple seasons fans like you would be the ones calling for the managers head, demanding a new striker. And youd be incredulous that a another DM is being linked. You're just that sort of "fan".

For all those fans licking Arteta and Arsenals backside, I suggest you go and support them instead of Spurs, if you think they are so good.

Losing two cup ties at home in the space of four days is not exactly the model of a club I want to follow.

Some of our fans spend more time praising other teams, than actually giving support to Spurs. You know who you are.

Pipe down Sandy

People can support Spurs and be objective about their view with regards to Arsenal, it doesn’t make anyone less of a fan.

You’ve given Spurs managers plenty of stick in the past - including Poch, does that make you less of a fan?

Last season Ange got lots of abuse on here for our 2 non-existent cup runs despite us being in with a top 4 chance for most of the season. The logic being that we won't win the Prem and our chances of silverware very much lie with the Cups.

This campaign the league isn't too clever but we are still very much in all 3 Cup competitions that we entered going into mid Jan. We also have our top boys starting to return so maybe we will peak at just the right time?

Perhaps we should try to enjoy the ride!!?

Well said Strike, and cheers for backing us, as I know a lot of this weak bullshiiiiit is aimed at me too.

As you say, it’s perfectly fine to recognise where other teams are doing things right as a way of explaining where we’re going wrong. This ridiculous “our way is the only way” approach makes absolutely no sense. Whether we like it or not, since the Conte era when we were both at a similar level, they’ve hit a completely different stratosphere and we’ve dropped further. Why is that beyond criticism? Sandy and Dev can both feck off with their bullshiiiiit defence of the club. Particularly Sandy. I don’t want to hear a peep from him considering how desperate he was to get rid of Poch. Why is he allowed to throw shade and we’re not?

tbf Sandy and others are just as entitled to their opinion as you and Strike are. Sandy is old skool - support the club at all costs and stick your head in the sand when things aint great. You have a more subjective reasoned view - which if repeated loudly in the 80s and 90s would have had you chucked out of any Spurs' boozer. Times change of course.

Sandy constantly criticised the manager that achieved consistent top 3/4 finishes and led us to a CL final, but we’re not allowed to say anything about the manager that’s led us to the bottom half of the table.
