Rumours I hope aren't true

Spurs would be mental to sell him at this point. They have four or five good youngsters they could build a side around over the next few years, Archie & Bergvall being the pick of them.

Linked with Bali Mumba. Have no idea if this is true.

I just like saying his name out loud.

Also linked with Dje D'avilla. Have no idea if this is true.

And no idea how to pronounce this very cool name.

I don't believe any links regarding incomings. All signs are we're signing nobody.

Called that one last season. Decent little attacking full back, can play both sides. Ex Norwich so Farke will have known him.

players sold that are u23 automatically get one, he will have a minimum of about 5-7% sell on clause for his next transfer and a lesser amount for every other transfer going forward.

Its a solidarity payment im sure its called.

Here I found this:

Solidarity Mechanism

In addition to training compensation, clubs that contribute to the training of players that develop into professional players for other clubs will be entitled to solidarity contribution, regulated in RSTP art. 21:

“If a professional is transferred before the expiry of his contract, any club that has contributed to his education and training shall receive a proportion of the compensation paid to his former club (solidarity contribution). The provisions concerning solidarity contributions are set out in Annexe 5 of these regulations.”

As with training compensation, as stated in RSTP art. 1, the obligation to pay solidarity contribution only occurs when a player transfers internationally. However, some national associations have transfer regulations that make solidarity contribution payable also for domestic transfers.

Unlike training compensation, solidarity contribution will only be payable upon the international transfer of a player who is already a professional, as a transfer fee is not payable for amateur players. As the solidarity contribution is dependent on the transfer fee, solidarity payments will only be payable if a player is transferred for a fee, prior to the expiry of his employment contract. Another difference from training compensation is that transfers occurring after the season of a player’s 23rd birthday will continue to engage the obligation to pay solidarity contribution.

The calculation of solidarity payments is slightly simpler than the calculation of training compensation. As a starting point, five percent of the transfer fee will be deducted, and divided between the clubs that trained the player between his 12th and 23rd birthday. The training years between the player’s 12th and 16th birthdays are valued at half of the of the value of the subsequent years. If the player is under 23 years old at the time of the transfer, the total solidarity payment will be less than five percent, as the compensation for the remaining years will be deducted. For every year that the player is younger than 23, 0.5% shall be deducted from 5%.

I thought it was up to 7% but its 5%, that also applies to any other transfer after "real madrid" however the percentage will drop on subsequent moves

If you google solidarity clause for football into google you will find plenty of info on it.

I have a mate that is a football agent, well more of an ex work colleague that I barely see anymore.

posted 2 days, 16 hours ago

Ok thanks for that. Was unaware of this completely.

But, not quite the same thing as a sell on clause and won't be in the sale contract.

Is only effective if Gray moves internationally, which Real Madrid obviously is. And the amount will be 2.5% As Gray is 18. (5% less 0.5% for every year younger than 23)

This regulations appears to only reference the total transfer fee so this would actually still be better than a 10% sell on clause as they are almost always of the profit made, not the total fee. If Real buy Gray for £42m as suggested, then the 10% sell on would only be £200,000 anyway. 2.5% of the fee will be £1,050,000. Although as the latter is a regulation that fee would still be owed regardless of whether a sell on clause was negotiated or not.

No chance would I have been inserting a sell on clause unless for some very very unlikely reason Tottenham were prepared to give us it for free. Yeah right,

posted 2 days, 15 hours ago

Also, it looks like this payment comes from UEFA and not Spurs.

posted 2 days, 14 hours ago

We’re not selling Gray for £42m after we signed him for £40m and he has been a first team regular. If we’re selling, I doubt we would accept less than £60m. I doubt Real’s interest is solid, they usually buy the finished article or youngsters in the calibre of Bellingham, Camavinga, Tchouameni.

I have said before, I think Archie will be a guy who plays at the very top for a very long time, his composure and mentality are elite. However, he is not the finished product and he is not at the level of the other 3 I mentioned. He just wouldn’t get game time at Madrid.

I think he will be with us for another couple of years at least and I expect him to flourish into one of our top 3 players - his versatility, his first touch, his footballing brain - all phenomenal

Farke to get his Buendia crush? Finally?

posted 2 days, 12 hours ago

No offence to Donny but I thought he might end up at better club higher up the leagues. League one at least. If we are honest most players who we loan to league 2 sides barely make it.

posted 2 days, 10 hours ago

no idea if he did have a sell on fee, but If he went to Madrid, (I mean, I'd be made up for him) then fair play, of course with hindsight you could say to have a sell on fee.

but lets not forget Archie wasn't anywhere near tested in the premier league, we got a brilliant fee for him as it was, and he already went to a team we'd call 'top end' premier league... how better deal do we want ? - was a very strong chance he'd flop, or better put, take a while to get used to the premier league.

I'm not sure of us would honestly say, this lad guna be the next Roberto Carlos.

I do concede I know nothing about contracts etc tbf, and maybe its a standard thing that a sell clause would, or should be added.. but come on

Joffy to Hull City: Official.

Sounds very happy to be there with chance
of actually playing regular. Hope this leads to
a permanent move for his sake.

I like Joffy and sorry to see him go, but pleased for the lad - deserves game time.
