The best we can hope for, and it would be a largely desperate move if it happened, would be to start playing Chido.
We're not bringing in anyone

Let’s try and get Mbeumo or Duran or Mateta or Semenyo if we get some decent money for the outgoing players.
----------
Not sure any of these are the right fit, even aside from the outlay. Mbeumo and Semenyo are more often used wide than central and Semenyo is still very hit-and-miss as a finisher - certainly not a reliable goalscorer. Mateta can be effective but he's pretty cumbersome at times. Duran is very potent but also pretty young and we could do with someone closer to the finished article than another project. He'd be an exciting signing though.

A goog striker covers iip many sins behind him.
But he does need service it's not like Hoijlund or Zirkzee have been missing chances, they haven't been given any.

Hojlund isn’t good enough.
I’d go for Kluivert at Bournemouth and possibly Ings on a cheap 12 months contract with the option of another year.

It is time some people give their head a wobble and accept this. His ceiling is not higher than Martial, who actually gave us some wonderful moments. Hojlund it is just sad watching him.

Semenyo and Duran are inconsistent strikers so we'd be in the same boat. The Other 2 would be big money I think, especially given their importance to their respective clubs and in the middle of a season

Still can't believe you spent over £70m on this guy. I mean think about that!!!
When you add Antony for over £80m too it must make you feel sick!

Regardless of how he's doing it was ridiculous amount. I think he has potential to be a decent CF. If we start creating some decent chances for him.
As for Antony, it's unreal. Awful awful signing. I remember the World Cup at the time and he wasn't getting a game for Brazil. Iirc he was coming on as sub for Martinelli late in the second half. And we'd paid £80m 2 months earlier. Should've paid heed to the signs then.

Hojlund isn't getting great service but his general game isn't top standard. Far from it actually.
Too many times we sign players and our fans immediately think they are good. Some were talking up Zirkzee as a very astute signing only 5 months ago. I don't think he'd start games for about 14 of the PL teams.
Hojlund and Zirkzee are nowhere near good enough for what we want to be and are sadly a reflection of a club that has no idea what's it doing.

When you see the stick Lukaku got and he was actually scoring goals in a pretty non creative side it makes you wonder how we let it happen where standards have dropped so low we now expect players the level of Weghojlund and Zirk***** to be the answer.

Hojlund had a purple patch where he scored seven goals in six prem games, outside of that he has five in about forty.

Hojlund will turn 22 in a couple of weeks. He was bought as a young striker with potential, with a massive price tag around his neck and expected to lead the line of a blunt attack. He pretty much has zero chance of being successful.
Very few strikers at a young age are very good - the likes of Rooney, Owen, Fowler are exceptions, others like Shearer, Kane, Vardy took much longer. But they would have all had experienced reliable forwards around them to learn from.
It's a case of needing to bring in someone who is either a proven striker and take the pressure of Hojlund to let him learn the ropes. Hojlund may end up not being good enough, but we will still need back-up to that striker, and we seem to be trying our best to make sure Hojlund doesn't work out.
Zirkzee is not the type of player to be an out and out striker either.
Some names have been mentioned, but they seems to be in the young potential bracket who would probably struggle also.
It's difficult to see who would actually be available in the EPL, but I mean someone like Isak, Solanke, even a Vardy short-term. I wouldn't think any of those 3 would be available, but that's the type of player we need.
I think it's simple to say Hojlund is rubbish, let's get rid of him, without looking at the problem as a whole and being realistic at how to tackle it.
Of course we need a new goal scorer. However, we don’t have loads of cash and right now our problem is consistently shipping 3 goals to mediocre teams at home. That’s the priority to address.
