I heard weeks ago that the charges will be dropped. It would be a big risk to buy the player with that hanging over his head, but I think he is a quality striker.
He's a wee pr!ck, in trouble every week whether its r/ape, fighting, drinking. Liability. Good striker but a bit of a Joey Barton.
Like every other player on the planet establishment.
I dont know any of the facts surrounding the case but im sure if he is no guilty then he could have a great future at rangers . as for his behaviou well it works for broon and lennon and even gets them a hero like reception with their faithful so canny be that bad eh!
No sure about this other striker lad but if he is on a free then im sure we could do worse (samaras)
Chadams, not sure we're on the same wavelength
Nah i just think that most players these days have a likeness for acting out of order. He does have some baggage but to me he is worth a punt.
Certainly got potential but as you say his attitude has been poor in the past.

Tae be fair youz did sign Diouf or ahm a wrang?
In recent times, I have been living on the east coast and he's never out of trouble. Usually minor indicents that don't make national media, but local papers
I've lost count the number of stories i've heard about him the last few years.
He loves a scrap - plant him in Glasgow, sign for Old Firm, give him more money, inflate his ego even more - it's a recipe for disaster.

Given that Diouf was a bench filling loan signing and Goodwillie would be seen as a long term investment.
RIght good player, but he's got that Duncan Ferguson vibe about him.
Pretty sure the case is/was dropped though.
No the case wan't been dropped yet. I agree with establishment on this one. If the boy came here he would have to change his lifestyle. The point of a 'professional' footballer is keeping yourself out of trouble, especially in the goldfish bowl of glasgow. As a pro playing for one of the OF you shouldn't be out boozing at the wknd anyway.

You need it explained to you?????
Yes I do need it explained to me.
Diouf is a moron on the pitch but as far as i'm aware, he's managed to keep himself out of trouble off the pitch. Not to mention he was a short term utility man to fill a few holes in the team when required.
Whereas Goodwillie is a moron on and off the pitch. He is on the rip every weekend and spends a night in the cells every other weekend whether it be for being drunk and disorderly, assault, rape....you name it.
Goodwillie would prob cost millions of pounds, has a serious criminal charge hanging over his head, previous criminal convictions and if found guilty is probably looking at jail time. For that reason I think signing Diouf is not relevant given that it was for a short time, wasn't facing criminal charges and isn't known to be a lager lout at the weekends.
Comprende?
Diouf has a criminal record too....
Have you heard his radio interview with a guy who was winding him up???
Goodwill has made a few mistakes when he's been drunk, Diouf has committed his despicable acts sober....
So by signing Diouf, it seems any port in a storm, win at all costs policy
Diouf has no relevance to this thread
It was just being pointed out to you, that Rangers haven't recently paid attention to the baggage carried by players they sign, which is RELEVANT in the case of Goodwillie
Establishment
There's no mistaking that Goodwillie is a decent young player and a good prospect but he'd seriously need to wind his neck in a bit if he signs for either of the Old Firm.
I think he's worth the risk myself.
So Alistair went to Argentina to find a messi and comes back empty handed. Then makes Badwillie his no1 transfer target? That is just going to some Alistair up. A will give him Twenty Two games before Mr Whyte sacks him, then the dream team of Iain Dowie and Steve Lomas will get appointed! watch this space........
Would you rather he brought back an overpriced dud like Juarez then?
Why would you go to, Argentina....To look for Mexican
Don't know suppose it would be like going to Scotland to play for an Irish team...
