If you want to go on major trophies won:-
Klopp
CL
PL
Club World Cup
FA Cup
League Cup x 2
Houllier
League Cup
FA Cup
UEFA Cup
Although if you wanted to be sensible and add context, as well as Klopp winning more trophies which included the two biggest that Houllier didn’t win, Liverpool were consistently one of the best teams in Europe under Klopp, getting to the CL Final on three occasions, winning one and consistently one of the best teams in the league, narrowly missing out to City by a point on two occasions and winning it once.
Liverpool weren’t able to be consistently better than City in England or Madrid in Europe but certainly you could say were next best and on a low net spend comparatively speaking.
The trophies show he was better and the context further provides proof of that. Houllier had a cup team one season, Klopp consistently had Liverpool fighting on all fronts.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So, four extra seasons. A prem title and an FA Cup. CL is good of course, so is a Uefa. Not even gonna entertain the club world cup nonsense.
The way people talk of Klopp you would think he was winning trophies for fun, the reality is very different.

They’re both very different obviously but both will be legends.
Of course Klopp’s personality was iconic and lovable (his smile, laugh, fist pumps etc). Will I love Slot any less because he doesn’t do some of that? Of course not.
Time will tell whether Slot can win trophies over many seasons. At some point he will have to replace a lot of the players at the club currently and build his own team without the likes of Salah and Van Dijk. That will be the next big challenge he’ll face.
Ultimately any manager that wins silverware for the club(s) I support gets a place in my heart

firstly, i wanted to commend you for an intriguing and thought provoking post. really made me ponder my opinion.
i feel they are both perfect for us at the time they have been here.
Klopp is a force of nature. With the state of the club and the team at that time. FSG needed a strong charismatic manager to get the team heading the right way, while they sorted th financial income and stadium.
Would Slot have been able to perform the same turn around? Perhaps. but Jurgens personality really got the fans believing again. gave us some passion back!!
Slot appears to be perfect for the growth from Klopps team. A more measured approach to fine tune and tweak the klopp ethos, reign in the expenditure of energy to improve the fitness levels. to hopefully really get us on a winning streak of trophies.
the period we are in is beginning to remind me of the period of transition from Shankly to Paisley(and no im not at all saying JK and AS are the same as our 2 legends). there are some similarities tho ;
JK is a transformative figure, necessary to turn the club around(like Shanks did). Paisley was the more measured and successful manager. Perfect to take the club forward from what shanks created.
Will Slot take the club forward to greater success, like Bob did? that remains to be seen, but by gosh we all hope so
i do like slot so far. he is tactically flexibile and makes effective midgame changes. He appears to have to strong temperament too, to kick butts when needed!
i really hope, regardless of what success we achieve this season, that AS is given a substantial budget to strengthen the necessary and trim the fat. The 2nd season could be even more exciting....
i loved klopp for exactly the way he was.
i like slot for what he is doing and the fact he isnt trying to be klopp. Installing the Slot Machine!!

Klopp literally rebuilt the whole midfield and attack minus a Salah replacement as he’s still going strong, before he left, without losing a whole lot in terms of quality. I don’t think we’re stronger as a first eleven as Klopp’s first Liverpool team he built as we had that amazing attack of Mane, Firmino and Salah but definitely a stronger squad.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Klopp would be winning it this season anyway. Last season we had a lot of players still settling in and we fell away in the last months of the season.
With City and Arsenal being so poor this season Klopp would likely be walking the league this season too.

Slot is charismatic in his own right. His press conferences will give you much more insight into his personality than his actions in the dugout.
How many managers in the history of the sport can you compare to Klopp in terms of charisma?
You can probably count them on one hand.

That’s a funny way of saying Klopp won more trophies including the two biggest that Houllier didn’t win, who won three cups in one season and nothing else but OK.

The reality is he won loads of trophies. In fact he won ever trophy apart from the Europa League, which he lost the final in, in his first season. Even got a PL during a period when City were cleaning up with a billion pound squad and the widely recognised best manager in the world.
But yeah the same as Houllier. I’m sure everybody would swap Klopp’s achievements for Houllier’s one cup season.
I mean do you really want to continue this nonsense on and die on this stupidity hill?
