Was there even a thousand in the crowd? And for this, one of our key players spends hours on buses and planes, to play in a meaningless friendly, and has to manage jetlag on his return. You can laugh, but the joke is on us.

Well yes, it is. He was pretty sore about not being allowed to play in the Olympics for his country. It’s hard to stop player from going who’will be out of the Elland Road door in two months and whom you need playing to his best level until then.
Think the attendance was nearly 3000 if I head the commentary right. Dominican Republic can be a dangerous country; a lot wouldn’t want to drive out there at night anyway. I’d have been more worried about JF being shot or kidnapped than injured!! 🤔

Mont, presumably you mean the #5 Noah Dollenmayer, or ‘blanquito’ as they call him (little white boy…but all of that is part of Latin American and Caribbean culture and is never said disparagingly among friends)! 🤫
I’m surprised you don’t recognise him, but that’s presuming you have watched MLS up there in Canada. He plays for Los Angeles FC and is 6’6”.
I found his first goal for Dominicana…you’re probably expecting a towering header no doubt…but take a look at this classy touch! 😳

Apologies Mont. I went off now to read a little more about him, but I must have misheard the Spanish commentary. I see that in reality, he made a couple of appearances for LAFC back in 2023, so not really as much as they were bigging him up to be as they were last night!
I don’t watch MLS down here, as mostly it is Mexican and Latin American football etc. that they show.
