1.) They're at least British, and I'm sure France aren't; at least not since Queen Mary lost Calais.
2.) I have a Welsh surname!
3.) OK, they did beat Ireland, but at least if Wales win, I can say we went out to winners!
4.) I like drinking Brains S.A. It's fun!

JJG thinks you're referring to the other British national team, and are referring to them as English... whereas you were actually referring to the other English teams who play in the CL.
