Not our best performance maybe but....................
I would have taken a draw before KO
I'll take the draw too. Watched the live stream from my hotel in Cancun. As much as I'd have loved to have been at PP today, i'm happy to bee here.
Well done to all fans who went, showing once again that we have amazing support in vast numbers that half the Premier league clubs can only dream of.
I don't want to open the old attendance debate again but what I can't understand is why 3,000 of them only paid £10 to get in. Why do this offer against the top of the league?
If we can still be difficult to beat against the leaders, and not even play to our best - then perhaps we are truly turning a corner.
TEG..stop being bitter lol, 33,000 inside Pride Park today..stuff you can only dream about. By the way hows your prediction league going? Your digging a hokw for yerself mate..only trying to help
Teg,
But you have opened it.
We've got more fans than you.
It's about 50 years since Forest got over 33k at home.
Backo, AJ:
I GENUINELY can't understand why you did it for this match. I'm not disputing your crowds but seriously why make it cheap for 3,000 for this match?
Its just a basic form of marketing TEG. People come in on a reduced rate. Like what they see and then buy tickets/half STs/merchandise on the back of what they have seen.End of.
Recession and giving something back to the great and the good, IE derby's finest.
U rams.
Good point against a top 6 side high on confidence and with resources (£4.5m bid for Burnley striker). We seem a gritty, hard-working side, maybe needing more flair/ability to retain the ball but we're also missing key players (Barker, Bailey, Brayford now, Tyson) with our small squad.
You could argue that, at least we got a draw in a game we often ended up losing last season.
Yeah I understand that View but there's pro and cons for doing against the top of the table that would have attracted a good crowd anyway
Hard though this may be, well done. You don't have the 'flattering to deceive' look of the last few seasons. Boss might even break into a smile on Monday.
All the best (apart from the return!).
TEG-it is actually simple if you think past the simplistic viewpoint. Two top championship sides like Southamption v Derby in this current economic downturn will get good solid 26,000-30,000 out on match day, however that still leaves you 9000-3000 short. Do you lose anything then if you offer some people cheap tickets to get in?
=No!
-Why you ask?
=Simple; because, first you won't make anything on empty seats, so even a net-lose is a factual gain here.
-Second; having a full stable at cost of little money is worth it, if helps promote the club long term and also can have positive effects on the game...which not only give plus short term effects, but also aid in long term repeat sales.
-Third and final point-if someone left, then this is basically a good will offer by club to say, we not forgotten you.
There is your answer; it is the same as forest selling student tickets for 3 pounds.
i see TEG as usual spouting off drivel. if you come over to our side of the fence, say something sensible.
I agree with you Taiwan but my point is if they aren't going to do it at every match (which would be unfair to ST holders) why pick this match. That was the only point I was making lad
Jeez is it that difficult to understand the point TEG correctly makes?
Why choose a top of the table clash, rather than say Barnsley, or Doncaster earlier in the season...I thought the same myself!
Was great to have a full house all the same, just a pity Southampton were too good for us...good battling point though
Nice one MILF, I was reading it the same way, but didnt want to be the first to say that I also understood what TEG was saying...
I can only assume that the deal was struck or put into place at the start of the season... Looking at it from there, it would have been a game against a team just promoted from league one.
FFS Marco and TEG, I thought that was well explained by Tiawan. If you have space in the biggest fixture then promote it. Get them in to a full house then they are more likely to cone back.
If you don't get it then I won't go into further detail cos it'll be lost on you.
FFS Iwas FFS
You're allowed two "special-promo" games per season, why choose a game that's guaranteed a big crowd anyway?
Anyway who really cares, but the point is still relevant!
In their defence, it's probably better to use this tactic to get a crowd up from 30k - 33k, rather than 25k-28k. Certainly better atmosphere and publicity that way
HELP!!!!
Marco, I'm feeling sorry for TEG. Do you know what I mean?
No, not yet...i'm actually hoping he went to the Ricoh
