What,Two forwards in the starting 11?
Two forwards on the same pitch,at the same time?
Steady on.
I would rather we sorted out our defence and our style of play so that it is more like the team of the 80's if possible, but otherwise I agree with that side. Those of you that remember the 80's teams will remember that every time someone went into the tackle there was another team member behind ready to back them up, we seem to have lost that. Moyes sides are set up far too rigidly at times, especially with him asking players to play out of position.
The manager has been progressively becoming more and more negative over the last few seasons.
Imo he was always safety first tactics wise,he is becoming an ultra defensive, negative coach.
He is too rigid in his team formation, you can see players putting the brakes on in certain situations, for fear of straying out of his 7-8 men behind the ball at all times.
He is terrified to take a chance to win a game, through fear of being caught on the counter attack and losing a game.
To not play 2 up top against a team that will give us space to play is unfathomable.
I have been a strong DM supporter, but we need to be more attacking against the attacking sides. The way it stands, they are able to play to their tempo, and not worry about leaving players back.
Also, we need to leave 2-3 players up field when we are defending a corner. Pulling 10 back means even if we do get a good clearance, it will just come straight back. It also means there is less of a meleé in our penalty box.
This is probably what concerns me most at Everton.
The way we set-up is nearly always the same, no variation, no plan B. The lack of a tactician who read the game and change things before it's too late.
DM's favourite line must be "keep it tight and try and nick a goal".
I remember saying at the time we signed up Round, that we should have gone for Clarke instead.
We need an offensive coach to counter DM's negative approach.
We're currently going through a run of difficult games and not picking up any points.
We have to go for it more.
Sitting back and hoping we keep a clean sheet, then nick a goal, is not working.
Try something different FFS!
End of rant.
Agree totally with these comments. I would not swap Moyes because as a motivator and a man who can get the best out of what he has then I rate him second to SAF but his support is very negative and tactically naive. Nothing personal against Mr Round but he was Umbrella Mans assistant, I mean FnL that alone must have been a warning to DM. 2 minutes in Dutch football and Mclaren was talking with a dutch accent twice over. As my name indicates I am normally a Glass is always Half Full type of person but I fear very much for us this season, no investment or attempt at investment is going to be our downfall. Statements like we are going to lose 5 Mill season on season prior to a game also does nothing for the moral of the Squad.
People have known this for season on season. Not many clubs make money.
Fans demand the best players and players drive the wages engine that bleeds the clubs dry.
Are you sure our top players earning 40-70k a week are really depressed that the club is loosing £5M a year?
A 2-3k reduction in wage demands from these players would help turn the balance sheet back in the right direction
Maybe a bit of an overstatement to say it affects moral but you understood full well the gist!!!!!!
How can the company loosing money but the staff still getting paid effect moral. Maybe it may be of concern to non playing staff, but I am sure the millionaire footballers are not concerned at all about this.
We could make sure we dont run at a loss, say reduce coaching, scouting and youth development? But that would remove the supply line of cheap to buy/develop players that we can sell on at a nice price to remain competitive
What is the point in me saying it was an overstatement if you still insist on rabbiting on about it?
A far more relevant question I have is: Does anyone know the name of those catchy tunes the Turkish Bar Lads dance and sing to on the Bar? One is where they do the right hand to left elbow and left hand to right elbow move, the other is called Sexee (I think) where they rub their hands up an arm and then a leg (their own I hasten to add)?

You cant make a wild statement like that, saying an operational loss will have an impact on footballers performance and not expect this kind of reaction!
Jeeeeeeezuuuus
GHF,
Do the Turkish Bar Lads dance with full commitment?
Or is their performance affected by the takings being up or down.
I myself could not imagine that would affect their performances in any way.
Don't really know Concerned! But their takings being down would definitely affect their performance, especially if the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing.
That operational loss will not improve with the signing of Faddy.
I guess we will be a demotivated team and go down now all
Operator?
I would like to reverse the charges
What an out and out Wazak!!!!
