Really don't care about the Champions league this season.
As much as I hate admitting it, the team isn't good enough to win it. We haven't just come up short against Barca, we have been taken to the cleaners twice by them. And they are just getting better with Fabregas and Thiago etc.
We have a much better chance domestically if we are honest and it would be much sweeter winning number 20 with the bitters finally being a credible force.

Why is Barca always the measuring stick? Bayern could have won it having not played Barca once the other year.
If we did get barca but got them early in the knockouts we'd have a much better chance of beating them.
I agree, why compare ourselves to Barca all the time? We all know they are by far the best in the world but every team is beatable and it's not like we have to beat them to win it, other teams can do that
Compare our teams against the likes of Real, Bayern, AC instead and I think we are just as good.
I believe the last time United failed to win in the first two group games of the CL was back in the 98/99 season
Have faith. SAF knows it's a marathon not a sprint. Trouble is though, looking at Mancini's bench at the weekend, he too is following a similar mindset
we have a crucial game next weekend that's a must-not-lose game. Giving City a 5 point gap this early, with their strength is going to be hard to close in my opinion
Sunday's game is monumental especially after we let City overtake us in the league.
The scary thing is, for every Rooney we have, they have an Aguero, for every Nani we have, they have a Silva, for every Vidic we have, they have a Kompany.
We may say if our players play to the best of their abiltiies we will win, but then again, City can say the same. They have so much talent it's unreal

Because they are the reigning champions, the yardstick and the reason we have 3 European Cups and not have 5 likes the dippers.
In 2008.....we beat them over two legs and went on to be champions of Europe. We were the yardstick.
However...they went away and became an incredible side. the best team I have ever seen in fairness.
I hate United fans who simply try and ignore it and just can't face the fact that RIGHT NOW we are a million miles behind them.
Thats not to say that won't change in the future, of course it will, but not before May.
Lets focus on number 20 I say.
Im not saying ignore Barca' superiority, but what I am saying is why resign to the fact that Barca are the best hence there is no point in even hoping?
If football was always won by the best team, where would be the entertainment value?!
Real can easily knock out Barca. Their games are so close nowadays. Id even back us to give them a good tie if we have the second leg at Old Trafford.
Barca ahve struggled vs Inter, Chelsea and even against Arsenal they were a Bendtner miscontrol away from going out
