Beevers is a bit slow at times like you said. He is too much like Mckenzie that they dont mix, if you get what I mean. Clinton is a player I look up too! Always signed him on Football manager and fifa haha. Smith has the potential to be our player of the season!!!

We will get out of our rut against Scunny, a big crowd expected, we should win!

Murray_MK... I do see what you meen about them not mixing. They are both big and clumsy and every week I have my heart in my mouth when they play square balls across the park to each other. They play lazy balls rather than forcefull ones and as such they nearly get caught out and make the odd mistakes.
Smith on the other hand looks quick, nible and confident even when Martin puts him under un-necessary pressure from his throws.
I thought McKenzie had been awsome this season right up to the point when he got himself sent off against Udders and the poor poor pass he made to Bournemouth on Saturday. He needs a Robinson Rocket up the backside...

Yeah agreed about them being clumsy thats why Doumbe is better next to Mckenzie as he has more pace and a bit more style about him. Martin just tries to play the ball a bit too quick sometimes its as if the other players have not realised he is going to do it! I just hope Flannagan gets a game when Beevers goes back.

Firstly, I actually like Beevers, gotta remember he's had a tough move ahead considering he's playing completley different football, judging his performances, he looks like he'll improve a lot given time.

Clinton, firstly, no...He's not captain material. Just because he wants to be here and holds the club highly, doesn't make him captain material. If he's captain material then so is Ibehre, Bowditch and the rest who want to be here...
I agree about Gleeson though, more a captain than Lewington is.
I do like Clinton and can see him signing on, his only problem is his wages...But he's a real fans man!

Smith is brilliant, getting from him exactly what we expected!
DEFINATLEY a worthy replacement for Woodards!

I agree with Maccer about Beevers. I have grown to like him and would like us to buy him. In regards to Morrison, he has slowly grown on me but I still think he is too expensive even on loan. I would like to see him play with MacDonald and an interesting idea about making him captain, but that would give Lewie no protection when he moans to the ref.

I also agree about Smith, definitely better than Woodards and a real plus. Doumbe is still coming back from injury and I wouldn't discount Flanagan. If the mistakes carry on happening at the back someone has to be dropped, Flanagan has looked assured on the ball and may run Doumbe close for his money, as Doumbe although a good defender he is not a better passer.

Smith by far and away the best of the lot, probably too much to sign?

I like Beevers, i'm still not warming to Morrisson. I'll be disappointed if we spend any of the money on him. There's got to be someone out there with a tiny bit of magic and pace that we lost with Sammy. That's what we need up front imo. Clinton seems like a bit of a journeyman to me; decent, can stick the ball in the net.

We're great at getting the ball from the back to the middle, from the middle to the edge of the box, then we lack the pace and movement to get beyond the back 4 regularly.

If you want magic go watch a magician, the one thing MK Dons have been lacking is someone who can "stick the ball in the net".

Morrison has scored in the last 4 games in fact the only game he didn't score in was his first and he only came on for half and hour.

The major problem with MK Dons this season is that no-one wants to shoot, at least Morrison has a go!

Its a shame Jay O'Shea has been injured. I tipped him as our top goal scorer this season as what i saw of he pre-season and in the few games he has played he is a player who shoots at every opportunity. Bowditch should have had a hat full of goals so far this season but he just has not had the luck on his side. Surely things have got to change soon as we have at least 6 players who are more than capable of scoring.
As Robbo keeps saying ' we must convert our chances into goals'....

'the one thing MK Dons have been lacking is someone who can "stick the ball in the net".'

From what i've seen, which may well be less than alot on here' we haven't been that incisive. It's not like we're creating a dozen chances only for incompetent finishers to make a mess of it.

I can see both Bill's and Hazsa's point of view here. We have been creating chances but haven't been putting them away, Bowditch is the prime example but we also struggling to get behind teams (Marsh Brown made a difference last season).

I will also voice another view that with 24 goals scored in League 1 so far scoring isn't a problem, its letting in 14 (8 at home). Our goals against average has continued to rise: Aug 0.8 Sept 1.20 Oct 1.33. A WORRY!

Problem though, Andee is that Robinson has been saying that for 2 and a half years now, it's all well saying it, we just don't bloody do it!
I look at the likes of Baldock and Balanta's goals vs Posh in the Playoffs, Powell against County, Baldock against Chesterfield and Norwich and Lewington against Carlisle as just a few examples that when we do shoot we can score, so why are we constantly trying to walk the ball into the 6 yard box without converting any of the chances?
We seen Shaun Williams flop from that far against Charlton..

Robbo does need to start rollicking players and dropping them if necessary to try and make them put in that extra effort. We still try to walk the ball into the goal and if we all can see it then I am sure he can. The team is far stronger and has a lot more depth this season and although we are better positioned than this time last season it should be a bit better than is especially if we are serious contenders for the autos. Still too hot and cold for my liking and don't look brushless enough. We should be burying a lot of the recent teams we played. Hopefully this is our worst blip and we will grow on from here. COYD

brushless??? Meant to be ruthless

posted on 19/10/11

I'm not sure it lack of effort but a lack of clinical finishing certainly. I agree about hot & cold, although Robbo's way is patient passing until the right opportunity comes along. I also think when we do get players forward they are all waiting for the ball than moving to receive it.

What MK Dons need is an out and out poacher who does nothing but get into the box and kicks, heads or Chests the ball over the goal line. Look at the stats Bournemouth .- 57% possession, 6 shots at goal - 2 goals scored.
Oldham - 57% possession 8 shots on target - 1 goal,
Notts County - 57% opossession 7 shots on target - 3 goals
Charlton - 53% possessions - 7 shots on target - 1 goal

Hopefully that's MacDonald when fit, the trouble is when he is not fit and the others still need to find the corners of the net.

Another point is the final ball. Too many times have we got to the byline only for the ball to be tamely hit at the keeper, or pulled back behind one of our players.

Good points everyone! I still believe Macdonald will be a quality signing, he can be the one to put it in the net! Think about it he had 3 in 3, before he got injured and scored harder goals than Morrision! We also have Jabo back for the weekend so its a good sign. O'shea also just back in training so things are looking up!

Speaking of loanee's this is not the best news as well all know I go on about Morrision all the time! http://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/morrison_returns_1_3892246#.TqAt-tNcrDZ.twitter
He is too good to just sit on the bench, we should sign him!

Not at his age Murray. He filled a gap but with MacDonald back we can get by and interesting that Megson now sees us a threat.

I'm gutted about Saturday as I can't make it, but I will be listening and cheering the lads on when I can. COYDs

I can't make it either. I hate this working for a living lark

I think we must sign Morrison if we want to stand any chance of going up.
Ibhere isnt going to score anywhere near enough goals, and McDonald is only just back from injury.
Morrison has shown what a team player he is and a natural goal scorer, we must spend money if we want to be in with a chance of going up.

Reading the Megson comments on their website I we would have asked for an extension that megso probably refused as he did not want Morrison to help our promotion push and keep on their tails (makes sense really) and further to that he basically said that he would not do us favours and if we wanted him we had to pay full wack for him.
It is a shame as i think he would have got better each week and really helped our cause.
BTW... Its nice to have a sensible debate on here without the WUM's. Keep contributing chaps!!
