using the skills is really difficult to master, play the possession game and bore your opposition to death. The will eventually open up.

It is annoying when you're up against someone who just dribbles through your whole team but now I'm getting the hang of it

Try PES 2011, particularly Master League

i had the same problem as you. but i got used to it. seriously, if i can get used to it, you can.

here's a tip. hold the contain button when it's likely someone will do a 1man dribble.

Just hold the jockey button

The new system takes some getting used to but once you get the hang of it then its great. Much more rewarding to win a game than in previous years. FIFA 12 over PES any day.

I personally hate fifa. ok, maybe hate is a bit strong, but i don't like it....

however, i did see a thing somewhere complaining that people 'cheated' by taking control of the goalkeeper while defending, meaning the computer defends for you, and apparently does it very well.

sounds a bit silly if you ask me.... but it's ea games so i expect no different

you can do that...?

And yes it would give you an advantage for sure. I really struggle to break down an AI defence but online I always create chances

I bought a PS3 (my first) the other day off a mate, got given fifa 11. This is the first football game i've played since PES8 or something ridiculous... It's way too easy!

Defending is a joke.

Getting the timing right when tackling is the tricky part so it's like total squilachi defending for me atm

I'm playing on Professional, career mode with AFC Wimbledon

And ATM bottom half of the league aka med-table mediocrity

My Virtual Pro's doing well

I quite like both to be honest. FIFA has raised the standard in the last few years, and I really like the new game, although I need to play it a bit more (I don't have a console, just play with my mates).

PES has come on quite a bit, and has definitely become more realistic, while retaining an arcade feel to it. It just stops you from dribbling through the whole team like you used to be able to do with Messi, Ronaldo, Rooney etc.

I'd say FIFA is the must-buy, but PES is definitely worth a go as well.

If it weren't for Ultimate team/AFC Wimbledon/none of my friends have PES but loads have FIFA

Then I might have gone for PES
Or
Neither, and just continued with PES 2011 and FM

Err...do people not know you can change the defending back to the previous way in the wireless controller settings....much easier..

when you get used to it, you actually begin to prefer the new defending method. it gives you a sense of achievement when you win a game.

Fifa 12, imo is awsome.

I personally think defendings great, I lose a hell of a lot, and concede frustrating goals but thats part of the fun.

As for pro, cant comment, was going to buy it aswell, due to the fact that for the first time in ages I actually have some money.

But with COD, Arkham city etc coming out I wont really be bothered to play 2 football games.

Im sure its good though.

But imo it would have to amazing to beat fifa 12.

I am pleasantly surprised with FIFA I have to admit

I much prefer it to FIFA 11, which I just did not like

FIFA 11 was far too easy. Someone mentioned a sense of achievement when you win a game, that's exactly what it feels like

I play Fifa 12 on Xbox offline only. But I'm thinking of getting the Xbox Live to play it online. Is it worth it?
