Johnson often doesn't start well. Right now he's much better as an impact sub. I think the reasoning behind it is so yaya can get on the ball and charge through the centre of the park
Also, 1-1, so wheesht Uncle A
its disgraceful how a great player like johnson is trewated at city anyway 1-1 a flukey own goal
How is it disgraceful how he is treated? He has started many games this season and is used as a sub in almost every game he doesn't start. Also he was injured for a while this season which is probably why you haven't seen so much of him.
he always gets brought off, should go to a club which plays him week in week out for the full 90 minutes and we will see why for me one of the best wingers in england he should come to his boyhood club newcastle
The thing with Johnson is that he is a "true" winger rather than an attacking midfielder or striker playing out wide (á la Arshavin or Villa). Unfortunately this kind of player is becoming increasingly obsolete in the modern game as mangers prefer players who can tuck in and offer a bit more than running to the byline and crossing.
Personally I think Johnson is a very exciting player and has the potential to be one of the best English players in quite a while, precisely because he's so un-English...
Typical negative Mancini tactics
Johnson, consistently, does not play well when he starts a game. He still has a long long way to go until he fulfils his potential. I am very happy that mancini made that substitution and didn't wait til half time, no point, the tactics weren't quite working.
should of took leg breaker de jong off for barry he has been awful and not forgetting he is a dirty ****
I think Barton was right about Barry. He simply does what he's told with no fuss which is why he keeps getting played for England and City despite being a very average player.
Because Johnson is contributes absolutely nothing when he plays from the start. Take this from a blue who has watched him week in week out since he signed, not from the media who blow smoke up the aris of any promising young English player.
... If the aim of this thread was to attract as many brainless wums as possible to the City board however, then well done sir, spurtle & hatem be afra #10 are two of the cream of the crop

how was te game bud? Not seen it yet
The idea is to take off the non effective Johnson and therefore have Barry back as DM in order to push yaya forward. Ray Charles could have seen that. Seems like you're new to this football lark.
Frustrating Macca. For a team that put something like 48 passes together against Villa the other day, we couldn't string three together tonight. Dzeko looks to be regressing, and it was almost 'typical City' syndrome all over again - however over the moon to see us get the result we needed in order to stay in this comp, and good to see us fight to the end for the result, not dissimilar to yourselves.
Hatem Ben Arfa #10 (U10856)
Adam Johnson brought off after 39mins to be replaced by gareth barry despite being 0-1 down at home, anyone care to explain that?

yeah Galati worked their socks off and gave us no time on the ball. Think we had 65ish % possession but created zip
Carrick was majestic in his passing I belive completing every pass and Evra played well
The rest was forgetable which isn't unusual for the CL group stages
Both pens were sonewall athough the scousers are already claiming Rooney dived. He didn't. the defender was just clumsy
City winning late when seemingly playing bad in the CL isn't a bad thing. I still have a hunch City will grab second in the group and qualify
Grats on your first win in the CL bud.
Cheers dude. The pub I watched it in had both City and United on screens next to each other so I sort of half watched yours. Being able to win games late on is one trait of yours I wouldn't mine us adopting, especially Sunday coming! Although still a way to go that win puts us in a much more promising position for qualification. On the plus side for you lot, the way the game went Mancini had to bring on players I thinkn he was intending to rest for Sunday, think there could be some tired legs out there now (Yaya, Barry, Lescott..)

Ahhhh now we get to the real reason you are on the City board, let it go you look like a fool.
