Come on mate, the United fans are being similarly stupid at times

..............................

I have never claimed that we do not have idiots among our fan base.

In fact, I made a reference to some of our stupid fans earlier on.

Sorry for any misunderstanding. This article was intended to discuss Hernandez and more specifically the way whenever he has the ball his tactic is to shield the ball and collapse as soon as he feels any sort of touch. This buys Man U free kicks constantly but is it fair?

This is not about diving in general.

Thanks

Do you know how much United pay all the refs to let this constantly happen and therefore are able to depend on it as a tactic?

I wouldn't accuse anybody of that sort of thing. Certainly not a club as respected as Manchester United.

I just think that Hernandez should be made aware that football is a contact sport and the refs need to keep an eye out for his underhand tactics.

Well worth it, when you see this kind of thread from a very sad and bitter scouser.

How come the op is the only person that has noticed this?

I'm just surprised the bitter Scouser watched Utd when the mighty Liverpool were playing Rangers in the.... what competition was it again?

Champions League? No they werent good enough for that.

Eurovision Cup? No, not good enough for that either.

I'm confused???

Well i will describe one for you U10945 and the rest are pretty much identical.

At one point in the game Hernandez receives the ball. He looks around for the pass but there is nothing on so he looks at the player closing him down. He than stands between the ball and said player. After a shifty look round at the player to see how close he is he prepares himself for the possibility of contact. In the 'ready to collapse' position he immediately falls in a heap over the ball at the slightest touch. This happened over and over again last night and he bought a free kick on each occasion but im sure most Man United fans would feel that this sort of tactic is not within the spirit of how the game should be played.

If any of you doubt this then please feel free to view the match again and come back to me.

So Hernandez was holding up the ball gets pushed from behind and its a free kick.

Sound normal to me.

Now onto Downing, what did he fall over? Was it an extra long blade of grass??

No Albert not pushed, touched.

There will always be contact in that situation whether it be a hand on the back or whatever but this is allowed and Hernandez should be told.

multiply that 5 and check for chelsea's european cup triumphs

Nah dont remember that or any dives from hernandez last night so you will have to provide more evidance Shouldnt be too difficult for you to produce a clip if they are that plentiful...

I like the way United fans keep having to refer to Downing in an attempt to deflect away from United players misdemeanour's!

We all know Downing dived, we all know United players dive too, Hernandez did go down very easily a couple of times last night, yes there was contact, but not enough to make him fall over like he did!...

There is no moral high ground to be gained here, in fact the more United fans defend their players the less credibility they have, get real guys...both teams dive/go down easily, there is nothing else to it!

do you think you are making some kind of revelation to Hernadez and referees in general by saying this? Do you think that refs don't already know that they have to keep an eye out for gamesmanship as part of their jobs or are you saying that all refs are incapable of spotting this practice only when the guilty player is wearing a red shirt with AON splashed across the front of it?

Theres a big differance between a blatant dive and going down too easily....

drawing a foul and going down is a perfectly normal and acceptable part of the game. Usually a bad defender is sucked into this....

No he was pushed, its quite obvious... well obvious to all of us with eyes.

This hasn't really worked out has it?

So you call it gamesmanship?

Hernandez is an absolute gem of a gamesman.

No, its no revelation.

What hasn't worked out?

And no, he was barely touched. Watch it again and you will see.
