We don't "take everything seriously", it's very hard to have 'banter' when every single article is by a wum!

You might get to talk about your team unhindered on the York/spurs board, but our board is virtually unusable sometimes. Which is very frustrating.

Thing is red, I hate overuse of the filters but it's almost getting to the point that all the sensible poster just need to filter away the wums.

That way we could get back to decent debate/jokes/ banter etc, not only with our own fans but with fans of other teams who just want the same as us.

The temptation we have to overcome though is not just to filter somebody just because you dissagree with them, then you end up with sterile blah blah.

It's not even 'football Wums' - that's the problem.

If you look at some of the articles that are posted on this site by self proclaimed Wums then it's shocking.

There are a plethora of people who have joined this forum for no other means than purely to disrupt any decent thread on any board.

They have no interest/knowledge of football whatsoever and if you look at some of the boards, well it's like nursery school

People moan and moan about wums but then say "Oh, I'd never filter anyone."

They've only got themselves to blame.

I don't bother filtering anyone anymore. I like to read with amazement some of the nonsense that is posted on here.

The filter is fine but when some clown decides to ruin a thread it doesn't matter if you have them filtered or not as the whole conversation has disentegrated into chaos anyway

I did however filter a few people at the start - but just the ludicrous posters. Some clown called andrewlloydwebber (?) who just posted "Aquilani yah" all over the show

it's like walking dead in here, I've filtered hundreds but they just keep on coming. the old 606 was so much better...oh well

The filter caused the problems. people will find a way round and return to WUM.

BC was not blighted with this issue, remove the filter and return to normal

simply put i made the point about ciritcal mass for all of the "alternatives" forms after 606.

forum based chat is dying, bbc cut it for money but you can see twitter and its associated rubbish is what the media want. They don't want us debating, just snappy oneliners they can ignore or use for thier own ends.

recruitment of new member son these forums in my view is impossible so i thought they'd last only a few months at the outset. If i ge tone more season out of it then i think i'll be lucky.

Aww come on RP, don't let them beat you, you're one of the few on here who I have a lot of time for. We can beat them. If people would use the filter, it would help a lot but it seems people prefer to argue. I'll post you a list which might enhance your experience. I urge the rest of you to do the same, so as we can have our board back and decent members like the OP post more.

One of the WUM cliches that makes my heart sink is the "Andy Carroll 35 million "
And I'm not even a Liverpool fan. I mean really, try to be a BIT original. I don't know any Pool fan who thinks he's worth that, but Newcastle knew you had the money, knew you needed a striker, and knew the clock was ticking on deadline day; he was paid for by the Torres money, with 15 million in change, so quite how "Andy Carroll 35 million " can be used a a stick to beat you with is beyond me.
I just don't get the whole WUM phenomenon, I'm all for banter, debate, argument and disagreement, but to actually take time out of your day to try & wind someone up that you have & probably WILL never meet seems pointless, and just clogs up what should be an interesting forum.

I fully agree with you though, most are either Wum articles or complete utter tripe mostly eminating from the North London boards. Most of them just entering the latter stages of puberty.
