I was actually discussing this with my dad yesterday. People dont actually realise how stressful being a manager is. Forget about the money they earn for a second. This is a job where you're under constant scrutiny from fans, media, your employers. One wrong foot and your face is splashed all over the papers. Kinda feel sorry for Wenger in that respect. He's quite old now and to be under stress at that age cant be good for his health.
I don't feel sorry for any top team manager but yes, it can put years on you.
whats happened to avb
anyway being a football manager is just as stressful as being ceo of big companies. the scrutiny is immense and if anything goes wrong, you've had it. would i take the job? of course.
Nope disagree. Ceo of a big corporation is totally different imo. Its not in the public eye as much. The only job that rivals being a manager is being a politician. Your every single action is reported when you're a football manager. Same as when you're a politician
Most people of this site are back seat drivers who can't even drive.
Most people can't even manage their wives/girlfriends let alone a football team!
Being a manager is not an easy thing to do and I wouldn't do it because I know I'll be crap at it.
That is why we should be careful how we criticise!
You can see why some ex pro's become pundits.
Agreed with you Passionpower, that why I've highlighted real manager and not FIFA12 etc...
I keep reading articles and comments saying Wenger should do this, Wenger should do that, bla bla bla..
I just want to say, it is not as easy and as crystal clear as it might seem!
AVB's only 34 so a bit of ageing won't be too bad for him.
In fact it might be good because people will stop harping on about how young and inexperienced he is.
if only i could manage Chelsea for even a day
What would you do in one day?
Wenger has made mistakes, even I think his time could be up but I hope he will pull it off his season for the team and for his sake so people can remember what a great manager he is.
But the way some of our fans ridicule and cuss him, you would think he was a worst manager than Steven MaClaren or something.
Also I bet many of them are not even in the top of their own field. The harshest critics are those that haven't achieved much in their lives, just loot at the football pundits for example.
It winds me up!
What would you do in one day?
