This is not about how long England have been number one in test cricket. This is about winning test series...
england are good only in england and australia. Whereas india have been good in all parts of the world in both formats. They have faced the best australia team and have been far the best team against the mighty australians. one bad series doesnt make a team bad, whereas england were always poor in the subcontinent. With pakistan having found their right combination and srilanka series coming up, england have will have a hard time saving their rank. If pakistan fail, srilanka will try, if srilanka fail, SA will try and if Sa fail, india will try. So i dont see how England will maintain their no 1 rank for long.

No i think you would agree if the Aussies produce quicker wickets India will lose..Australia will be a better fielding unit to.Your test team is aging..

No they wont. Thats the same prediction you guys made when india played SA. and it backfired as india dominated the last 2 tests. The only test series that didnt go our way was england series.
Sri-lanka have hit a buffer mentality at the moment.. They shouldnt have been bowled for an 190 on that track..

take my words guys. After india win 5-0 watch how pakistani fans will have different reosons not to appreciate on indian fans. God knows why they are so obssesed by the indian team. there have been more threads created by pakistani fans on this matches than any of england or india fans in this 4 months

99% of england fans would rather we won test matches..
England as a test team are still to be feared even in UAE and will start as good favourites but in the one day scene i was never convinced by them but the next world cup is in Aus so it gives them a chance if they can put a team together.
