Not quite. It's being claimed that City can't can't substantiate Mancini's comments, not that it's been proven that Tevez refused to come off the bench (either to play or to warm up).
Of course, this article in The Mirror does seem to ignore the confusion that surrounds Tevez' very own comments immediately after the game, or indeed Joorabchian's comments which inadvertantly (unintentionally) backed up the claim that Tevez did refuse to play.
Yeah, they used CGI on the live TV pictures to make it look like he didn't want to play and when he spoke to the media after the game and said "I didn't want to play" he was actually joking because he's famous for his sense of humour.
You heard his aftermatch interview Don you tell me if the Press and City got it wrong. No matter how much dust Tevez and his advisor throw in peoples eyes 2 independent translators have said that he refused to warm up and that he refused because he was not right to play, he didnt feel that he could.
Dont care about the rest he condemned himself out of his own mouth, the rest is just defence lawyer tactics, didnt mean what he said etc etc.
Your article is just another way of getting at city and nothing to do with the truth so I find it slightly ironic you should have a go at the press for one of the few times reporting what was actually said and the meanings behind it.
What a plum Mancini will look when Tevez kisses the shirt again soon he has been backing down for weeks now..shows weakness

In no way having a go at City for the sake of it. It's the way the press vilified them and now Gambling insitutions are cashing in on the hate campaign.
It sounds to me, that this blew up over Tevez's mis-communication with Mancini and subsequently be mis-translated by the interpreter.
Just plain wrong the way he has been treated by the club, fans and the press
Don
in your feeble attempt to wum us blues, you've missed out one crucial point in regards to Tevez...
.... WE DON'T CARE!!!
Check our start to the season and ask yourself how much the wayward Argentinian has contributed? A miised penalty at home to Wwigan is all I seem to recollect. We don't need him, we don't want him, we don't care about him. End of.
^ what a load of p ish Tevez and his puppett have City over a barrell, but i guess City are backing down now saying it was a simple mis uderstanding...pull your pants up
Tevez is still a just like the crappy aforementioned paper are a bunch of
After all the nonsense Tevez has put us through with all his transfer requests and hate speak for the club and the city of Manchester, I think I can speak on behalf of all Mancunians, red or blue, that he's not welcome any more.
Personally, I went off him after his diatribe at Manchester itself. I'm pretty certain that, after two years at United, he would've spotted he didn't care for the place. If it's so hateful, why did he stick around and join us? Only one answer - money. And if that's all he cares about, then he can get lost.

Sorry Betamax your mistaking tevez for Rooney, in January tevez will be gone and no one will be round his house on bmx's threatening him, Rooney on the other hand held your club up to ransom and you caved in proving he was bigger than the club!
The truth of it is everyone including your beloved manager agreed with Mancini, so what do you say to that!
Cityblue...your club is scared of Tevez and is backing down
Mancini has no power at your club
And if you think that is true you have no grip on reality, just spouting nonsense makes you look stupid, try saying something with some substance behind it rather than making silly remarks Under the guise of banter!
Cityblueloz
Tevez is a disgrace and you are better off without him and most United fans will back City on this. But please stop spouting your rubbish about Rooney. The reason he wanted to leave was because of the players we had signed recently and the worry we wouldnt be able to complete. He ended up signing the same contract that was offered to him in the first place and which he didnt even look at before turning it down. If the issue was over money then the contract wouldnt have been signed so quickly once they did sort things out.
Show me where I said anything about money when i said Rooney had you over a barrel, I never said anything about money did I.
Cityblue, Im not the only one who thinks City are backing Tevez over Bobby...dont get too upset fella

Well yeh you did actually:
"Rooney on the other hand held your club up to ransom and you caved in proving he was bigger than the club!"
Where is money mentioned in that statement, being held to ransom over him staying at the club whilst he basically started dictating the clubs transfer policy!
I never mentioned money once!

You clearly don't have a very strong understanding of the English language then. The word ransom relates directly to the extortion of money.
hold to ransom
a. to keep (prisoners, property, etc.) in confinement until payment for their release is made or received
b. to attempt to force (a person or persons) to comply with one's demands
Yes it relates to payment, but equally it can also relate to forcing someone to change conditions.
I could say to my employer. I'm not doing anymore paperwork untill you allow me to work from home.
No mention of money but I could still be said to be holding my employer to ransom.
There are many reasons for United and City fans to have arguments banter over. Particularly with the Derby this weekend. Carlos Tevez isn't one of them
He shat on both our clubs and Manchester as a whole.
Reds and Blues should be one in condemning this total prat.
Gawd knows why City are letting him off so lightly. Just not fair on the manager in my opinion
Everybody knows what Tevez did and unlike the situation at United it wasn't orchestrated by his agent. The sniping remarks from rags and others are totally expected but the reality is City will want the situation to be interpreted as a misunderstanding as it may keep his value at a more realistic figure. Lots of people keep saying we should sack hin and cancel his contract but our owners aren't going to write off £25m just to prove a point.
There's a rumour going round that Tevez will suddenly need a hernia operation that will keep him out until the end of December by which time a suitable buyer will have been found, one thing's for sure, he'll never play for City again as long as Mancini is manager and I can't see the boss getting the sack in the next 7 weeks.

if Tevez hadn;t gobbed off after the game, that would certainly be an option. And a believable one too
He did gob off though so wanting the situation interpreted as a misunderstanding is a non-starter
