Fair point, you would obviously have more knowledge of Wilshere than me, as an Arsenal fan.

One thing I feel, if it does end up being a case of Wilshere carrying Arsenal, is the ego that comes with it - see Rooney, Gerrard, Lampard.

I wouldn't like to see Wilshere becoming one of these selfish players, which could become the case, as what is brilliant about him is his team play, something so important at international level. This is of course me speculating on a hypothetical situation.

sorry guys but i dont get Wilshere and all the hype about him.
Can someone tell me, is he a defensive/holding or attacking midfielder?

On the other hand i do like Cleverly and hope he doesnt get overhyped like the above.

And Henderson ?? Hmm... is a definition of average.

If you don't know what Wilshere is capable of, then I suggest you stop following football.

P.S Doubt you can see my comment as your whole fanbase has filtered me.

Surely it's the whole Liverpool board that have filtered you, not the United board?

wilshere and cleverly are both great, but mentioning henderson is a bit like the bbc involving nick clegg in all those tv debates.
Sureley ramsay is the other most talented young midfielder in the league.
I think those 3 are brilliant, hard to compare the gooner pairing to cleverly as cleverly has real quality around him when he plays. for examplewho do you think its easier to play in?chamack or hernandez (no offense chamack but chicos movement is sublime).
would you rather look right to see nani or wallcott. Nothings on, clevs goes back to vidic, evra, jones ferdinand or smalling.. jack and aaron look back and see koscielny and jenkinson etc etc etc

Nah Man U also kinda blocked me.

'Javier_Hernandez_School_ of_Finishing_Arts' is the perfect example. Look at him. He can't even see my comment.

hes an attacking one

do you remember all the fuss when wilshere was played in a defensive midfield position vs denmark

1. Wilshere is a supremely gifted player who should go on to one of the best deep-playmakers in the world (I don't believe he should be an attacking player anymore)

2. Cleverley is like Scholes without goalscoring game or superb long passing of the latter (a better tackler though!). He'll improve and I suspect will go on to be a dominant fixture in the United and Enlgand midfield

3. Henderson, what can I say? He just hasn't got anywhere near enough quality to be mentioned in the same sentence as the two above.

Who just spoke right now?

I think he would be wasted in the defensive mid position tbh. I agree. He shouldn't be playing in the Attacking Mid position though. I think Central midfield would be perfect for him. Not too committed to attack, or defend. Just in between. That's the position Cesc used to play at, before he was moved further up the pitch.

Dubbed

Yes, I think he should play a similar role to the one Cesc played in 07/08 when he was partnered by Flamini, someone more defensive alongside him (would be Song in this case).

Ah my mistake AU. You said 'deep lying playmaker'. We both pretty much said the same thing.

Wilshere in my mind will definitely go on to become a top midfielder. The only concern is that I'm not sure whether anyone knows his best position yet - for example, last season he played mainly as a deep-lying playmaker, but the first time I saw him was at the Emirates Cup a few years ago when he was about 16 - he played left wing and virtually ran the whole show.

Cleverly looks to be almost as good a prospect in my opinion, although a later bloomer - I'd only vaguely heard of him before his spell at Wigan last season and the general consensus was that he was going to fall by the wayside. However the fact that he's a very different player to Wilshere in terms of playing style means they could easily form a good partnership.

As for Henderson, I just completely fail to see what is so special about him.

Wilshere doesnt know where the goal is.

Thats because he is a deep-lying playmaker. Not his job to score. That was the role of Fabregas last season from midfield.
