Probably 60% of your team know they are to become surplus to requirement...

Forgive the stereotypical description of Pikey Donny...But you're soon to be known as Travellers XI...

Get back in your shed. We don't need prats like you on here.

There is little option to this one, we have Directors who won't spend any more of their enormous wealth and a team which at present would struggle in League One let alone the Championship.

I am sure that if McKay had gone to Wednesday, United, yourselves or any other similar club the Directors would consider it.

We just happen to have his kids in our Academy and him living down the road.

If we do nothing we end up in League One, this way we have a chance to survive, especially to the point where, hopefully we gain control of the Keepmoat Stadium.

Well, good luck, I think you're going to need it...

Sorry to go slightly off topic but in the passed I queried why it was only JR making statements to the press while the rest of the board, Watson and Bramall, said nothing. It appears that Mr. Watson has now emerged from the darkness and is now talking to the media. Could it be that there has been a power struggle and Watson and Bramall now run the show? It might explain the recent u turn by JR! if it is the case we will see what the super business men do to run a football club and compare it to JR s method of running it from the heart.

You can bet your bottom dollar Alex, if they get control of the Stadium, a lot of things will change.

Especially if they are able to buy the Stadium and surrounding land. Watch out for more building, Hotels etc. Whether that will help the Rovers or not remains to be seen.

They would get the ability to make money from the Stadium and not be burdoned with 1 million in rent.

NY, we have both questioned the motivation of certain members of the board many times before and personally I really don't mind the business men making their extra millions as long as the club exists. I will always hold Donny close to my heart but I would be lying if I said I was not very concerned as we enter deep water with a ship that does not appear to be water tight .

The problem is Alex, that without these men and also the introduction of McKay, we are already sunk. Somewhere close at hand is a massive iceburg and before long we will hit it.

I had a lovely day yesterday in Leeds with a lovely lady and family members watching the world go by and aeroplanes
landing, absolutely brilliant. not a care in the world. And I thought to myself. "There is something better than Football" I will save my money and have days out like yesterday and let all you saddo's argue all you want

I did that ionly!I went to my grandsons 2nd.birthday party & tried to forget it all. Then I got back home & looked at the teletext results & I was gutted!I can't believe how poorly this team is performing. No injury excuses now.Just a team full of poor, unmotivated players.Needs a miracle to turn it round.Serious motivation required, but from where?

To be honest you would think pride would be enough, but if not the size of their pay cheques c ompared to those of most fans should.

Ionly and Stanton I wish I could be as strong as you but if I'm not there to see Donny do whatever they do I feel I have not lived.

Spike.
I was wondering if you know of any more information regarding the fellow in Staffs.

JR does not know who he is, but I understand Mickey Walker has friends at Arsenal and my contact is going to see if he can find out anything.

Anything more you can let me have would be appreciated.

Hi newyankee, I've passed what I know onto Dave Parker. I'm waiting for Donnyfollower to turn up on our forum so I can find out if he will speak to the club.

Hi Spike,
The thing I like about Richard, Donnyfollower, is that if he was on our Board, he, like JR, has Donny blood running through his veins. No vested interest otherthan love of the team a real supporter. Best of luck Spike.

Sad thread.

To be honest I see exactly where Sparty is coming from although of course, I wouldn't use his terminology.

We can speculate all day about what has gone on in the boardroom. Perhaps money is needed for the opportunity to take full control of the KM; perhaps a director has pulled out or cut his commitment . Whatever it is, I hope it's a big deal like this because if the board is just suddenly saying "let's half our wage bill" it smacks of no strategy and no management. The wage bill didn't suddenly become £8M overnight. It's been increasing about £1M per year since we were promoted.

I don't buy that Donny are doing what they have to do. I don't buy the "stay in the championship at all costs " ethos. And will Ryan ever shut up about the premier league. He sounds like a fool.

A team with no shared sense of purpose will always struggle against teams where the team's success is directly linked to that of the players. That is why this experiment will prove not to work for Donny. I also don't think it will work for McKay but he already stands to lose far less as Rovers have already ditched their values.

Over recent seasons we've seen teams go down and come back (Scunny, Peterborough) plus we've seen a team really sink (Plymouth). We've just got to make sure we're in that first category and I don't think this is how you do that.

Lots of talk of sinking ships. Well, the band played on as the Titanic sunk. I wonder what our metaphor will be because that one surely does not fit.

posted on 24/10/11

Well the Titanic sunk a lot of leagues! Let's hope Rovers don't. A rock and a hard place then? Can't make my mind up about the new regime. But then again I used to be indecisive but now I'm not really sure.

Please get behind team this saturday because team really need strong support in difficuit times. I was asked to protest against agent Willie Mckay before game but I said no because I think it wrong to protest & they agreed not to protest.

posted on 24/10/11

I absolutely disagree with this new strategy and Fuzzy's statement that the club has "ditched" its values sums it up for me. in that sense, it no longer feels good to be a Rovers supporter. The sense of pride that I had in the club and what it stood for has gone. Having said that, the club has been around for a long time and regimes and strategies come and go.
However, I will be there on Saturday and I agree with Askern - whatever we feel about this new regime and strategy, the players need our help on the pitch so let's give them every ounce of support that we can!

posted on 24/10/11

I agree with Fuzzy's comments too especially about losing values - anyone see the comment in the Mirror yesterday about "relegation being too good for Doncaster" ? I personally feel this could end in a situation a lot worse than relegation to League one.

I'll be there on Saturday, its too soon for protesting until we see which direction this definitely takes. I'll be supporting our players, the ones who have made a longer term committment to the club because they do need support at this time

I feel trapped, I like my little pub team image and what we have achieved in recent times but I have to give my full support to the manager and the team. My first look at the new set up will be at Millwall and I am convinced if we can get a few wins under our belt the overall picture will look a lot better.
Its Saunders who needs to get his finger out to get a style of play to fit the players at his disposal, he can and will do it but do it soon.
