I always said we should of gone for Steklenburg ( hollands number 1) awesome goal keeper who van der Sar actually reccomended United get. He went to Roma for about 6mil because his contract was running out, why spurs didn't try for this i don't know

Kameni is Espanyol's 3rd choice keeper according to Wiki

Brad is simply world class, an ageless American freak of nature.

Brad has been awesome

Shame about Gomes, makes some uncanny saves at times but then lets a simple shot straight at him go through him

Wouldn't go as far to say Brad is world class.

Hes just a good reliable keeper who is very similar to Howard, maybe slightly worse.

Brad seems solid! I think he could have done better on the 2nd Newcastle goal! but he has been given good protection since he has been with us!.

Don - Without doubt Freidel is the more commanding keeper, collects everything without a drama on the scale of an Eastenders Xmas Episode

I would however say i still think Gomes is the better shot stopper

===============================

Over the years Brad has been world class. He's played in one of the top leagues in world football and he's always been regarded as one of the best. He is such a consistent keeper, except for when he plays badly.

Brad during his Villa/Blackburn days was amazing! I think he has 2/3 years left in him!

I think Gomes would do much better in the Spanish or Italian leagues, wouldn't get challenged half as much as what he does here, probably quite a shock after coming from Holland. Apparently he wants to play in the Brazil world cup so it might be better if he plays in Brazil. Friedel definitely calms down the defence, might not have won yesterday if Gomes was playing

Amazing saves!!

RRP, I kind of agree about the Gomes shot stopping but not. I believe Gomes can pull off outstanding saves that Friedal probably wouldn't be able to but Friedal has made some top saves this season aswell. Gomes just reeks of a nervous nature every time he plays and i feel that to so no wonder why our defence does. He had a great game by the way against Ruben ( Gomes) but even then there was a time where he nearly made a mistake ....Friedal - solid as a rock
