G&S,
How the flip did you get 14?
I got all mine but i only took 8. Which was normal in my day.
In saying that, i started full time employment at 15. Did you stay on or go college, maybe?

Actually, diversity of language would be more impressive/useful.
I did a Spanish evening course, and just used my O level French to accelerate the learning. With a few well-chosen languages, you could probably cover a lot of the world.
Cyrillic would cover eastern Europe.
Arabic (the language of the Quran) .
Written Chinese would help in Japan (and apparently northern Vietnam) .
Wonder which written language would be best for the Indian sub-continent (Hindi ?? ) .
12 O levels or GCSEs ??
RE is ok.
The RDBD got an O level in Religious Studies (Christ !!! ) .

"Mostly so I can earwig conversations."
Get a lot of people outside your office talking in Arabic and Putonghua, do you.
BTW, the "Galvin" name is most appropriate.
AFAIK the proper Galvin had a degree in Russian.
