Why is everyone talking about Fifa 14 now? It's only mid-April.

posted on 17/4/13

Because they've done the first reveal.

It still feels too early in my opinion. I hope UT doesn't die in the summer like it did last year.

Not that impressed to be honest Kent, some nice ideas but can't help but feel I've heard it all before. Think I'll only have a good idea of whether I'll like it in a few months, perhaps even the release of a demo. If all the new features make a big impact and they fix broken stuff it should be good. If not then it could be a big waste of time and another year of waiting to get it cut-price, perhaps not at all.

Think it's sounds exactly what you want. Not too much point in making it big and brash because that can wait for next gen, rather tweak the gameplay to make it better and more realistic.

Some things are definitely the sort of things I was hoping for, but honestly don't know yet. Stuff like this:

'On that note, Fifa 14 is also set to build on last year's first-touch control system, which varies how effectively a player receives the ball depending on his skill, position and the speed and angle of delivery. This time, EA Sports is introducing variable dribble touches, so sprinting players will push the ball forward at differing distances, again based on their skills; a stylish midfielder will keep the ball close to them, but a hulking defender may well push it out further, giving opposing players the chance to steal possession. Whatever, the days of having the ball stick to the runner's feet are over. "It will transform how you think about sprinting," says Channon.'

That is very similar to what they said about 13.

Think the proof will be in the pudding, there's not much point commenting on it until I can play.

That's quite a hard thing to get 100% spot on in one go tbf. I think they implemented the first touch thing pretty well, and now they can go into more detail. Bit like the Impact Engine.

Spent about 80-90k on packs. Best I got was Dede

Got relegated the other day. Got promoted undefeated first time. Then won division 1 first season back.

I'll be stunned it it's anyone other than John Terry.

Good shout. I'd like it to be Gomez.

I still think Terry though. They love EPL players.

IF Shaqiri will be quite nice. Far too many IF wide players in the Bundesliga now though...along with normal Ribery at LM you have Shaqiri, Gotze and Reus. At RM you have Farfan, Blasz and I think Muller too.

Lahm needs to bubk his ideas. RB must be only position at Bayern without IF
