nope. she was attacked a long time ago, in the black and white age in america, it was early in the morning , like 3, and she was attacke by a man, no one did anything even though i think 38 people saw, 10 minutes later the man came back and stabbed her, still no one did anything, 10 minutes later he came back and finished the job, like a hour later one person called the police. diffusion of responsibility.

it made piliavin the psycholgist conduct a exeriment in the new york subway train system. very interesting, it showed that when there are more people near a 'situation' people are less likely to help, and women are alot less likely than men as they think it is the mans job.

I'd never heard of that incident Ramsey. You never know how you will react in a particular set of circumstances. You hope you would do the right thing.

I certaintly like to think id do the right thing and help, i remember once, not as severe, but there was a accident on the motorway, and me and my dad drove past, was recent so no police or anything, and i said, should we ring the police and my dad said no someone else will do it, guess it is similar. who knows.

These days there is the possibility that the good samaritan could end up being a victim too. It's a tough call . . .

Hmmmm, I would always help no matter what. Guess cos I was brought up in the middle of no where and everyone had to look out for everyone else, including strangers.

I would never help. Got enough scars from fighting my own battles.

If you saw a car crash would you not stop and help them and see they are ok? I always have in the past anyway.

I would expect my man to come to my aid, as I would help him if under attack

but if I was on my own at night I wouldn't stop . . . I would drive to a safe place and then call for help. A man tried to flag me down late at night once but I was too scared to stop. I locked the doors and drove on. There didn't seem to be a crash or anything . . .

Car crash is different, not a violent situation so would help.

One time a young lady was on the walk bridge over the M25 that takes me to Dartford, on the wrong side of the rails, crying, ready to jump. I phoned the police in that situation and talked to the girl. Things like accidents and this then I would get involved but not violent situations.

I think we just come from different backgrounds. If someone is walking along the road back home, a stranger or whoever, I'll offer to take them where they are needing to go, especially if it is bad weather etc. We are nice in the north. Lol

There are alleged scams, like fake crashes, baby seats left by side of road and the such that are said to be used to attract vulnerable women. Urban legends I think.

Plus we are different gender too Barry. Is it safe for a woman to walk alone at night anywhere these days?
