If there was that much activity there would have to be massive changes. Publish an article then refresh a minute later and there are 30 comments and 100 1*s. It would be like one of those people, you will have at least one, on facebook that thinks they are hot and have 3000 friends or so, then they say something pointless in their status and it gets 200 likes in a minute or so.
