I'm sure Man Utd took a similar corner at OT a few years back, I faintly recall Giggs being involbved, so it's nothing new.
Its perfectly in the rules, perhaps a bit unsporting.
^ oh was it the same thing? If so I am fine with that. But I heard Yakubu didn't touch the ball, where Rooney did. Might be wrong though as I havnt seen it.
I'm still yet to see that blackburn 'corner' where pedersen took it by himself. I heard thats a bit of a joke....sounds it
------------------------------
oh yeah, forgot about that... that was highly comedic.
the ref clearly wasn't sure if yakubu had touched it, so assumed he must have as MGP ran in with the ball.... he clearly hadn't.
thing is though, why did MGP try it, unless he too thought yakubu had touched it after placing it down?. I'm guessing it's something they have worked on in training, but yakubu screwed it up and didn't touch it.
Yazoobu may have made a faint touch woth the ball, eiother way pedersen was following the order.
yakubu definitely didn't touch it. there was no movement whatsoever as he placed it down then ran past it.
So he didn't touch the ball?
I think its genius tbh, its cheeky and I remeber being pee'd off that the one United did v Chelsea didn't count. Because I think Vidic nodded it in? Rooney forgot to inform the line-o that he was taking it, which caused him to flag.
We had a "goal" disallowed as Rooney had not told the linesman he was going to do it, As far as I am aware the linesman wasn't in that corner, so couldn't have been told. If the Yak told the ref he was going to do it he should have been watching to make sure he touched the ball. Either way, not a good day for Marriner who has been given next weekend off.

Corner flag camera technology?
marriner should be given every weekend off. shocking ref.
and he's not cool enough to be an 'Andre'. he should admit he's just a lowly 'Andrew' who can't spell.

Sounds interesting. Definatly going to have to watch that. I remember for the United one, watching the analysis on it afterwards that you saw Giggs appeal to the linesman after it was disallowed and ask "Didn't he tell you" to which the linesman said "no". (my memory might be foggy on that one)
I have always wondered why we havn't given it another shot since then....Blackburn beat us to it with comedy value
