That team i'd like to see although i don't rate Sturridge that much. He's wasteful and doesn't work that hard.
I cant think of a memorable performance from Gerrard in the past couple of years.
Andy I agree with sturridge, but think he is the best as Adam Johnson never gets a game. (also about to argue with your parker point)

I didn't explain that. I meant Parker is not better as a captain than Gerrard. Gerrard is a great leader for Liverpool

In an ideal world England wouldn't need a player like Parker who is good at breaking it up but is a limited footballer. Think I'd start Jones as a cm. He looks good there when he does start there. Not a cb

For me a captain needs to be a leader on and off the pitch. Gerrard is a tad too much of a thug, plus the best way to motivate a team is by a hard tackle or great hustle play to retain possession.
On top of this, have you ever heard of Pool being 2-0 down and Gerrard at half time motivating the players on to win it?

Jones? He is a very average midfielder at best, flatters to deceive.
Lescott and Jagielka arent good enough?!?!?!? Check their record for Everton, or the fact that we managed to keep a clean sheet against Spain who didnt have any stand out chances.
