I idolised Gerrard for his Roy of the Rovers kind of career don't steal my childhood idolisation.
Van Persie as a younger player a few years ago always scored spectacular goals, has a very recognisable dribbling technique (slightly gangly with the arms). From the beginning of January last year to March of this year (and probably beyond) he has been in brilliant goalscoring form, the complete striker.
Torres is a pansy. Silly hair, had a couple of good seasons, but has now had two dreadful ones. Van Persie in one of his injury seasons scored more goals than Torres in a full season.
Van Persie will be remembered more than Torres.
Gerrard was an athletic powerhouse. Lampard has the footballing brain, very intelligent player.

I think Gerrard was average before Alonso and average now Alonso has left. Which is why he was never very good for England.

If he stays with Arsenal Szczesny will be regarded as one of the top keepers of the PL era.
