Morning
I assume you guys have heard that balotelli isn't being punished for his 'tackle' on song? apparently it was seen, so the fa can't do anything.
I assume Mr Atkinson's report went something along the lines of
"I saw an incident involving balotelli and song. balotelli clearly tackled song at knee height and song was very lucky to not have a broken leg as a result. i deemed this not a freekick as i am a complete imbecile. imbeciles cannot referee games, so therefore i resign"

the way i see it, atkinson has lied to the fa and said he has seen it when he hasn't, OR the fa have lied that it was seen to avoid giving him a 9 game ban.
there is no way an official saw that tackle and deemed it ok. not a chance in hell.

to be honest, the state of officiating in general this season has made me so disillusioned with football I am on the verge of saying sod it all.
what is the point when half the games are being decided by the officials instead of the players?
They should do mandatory eye-tests on all referees prior to the approval of their application to become referees

I don't. the current system is fine.
--------------------------------
fine? if it was fine, we wouldn't have games being decided by the refs with their ludicrous decisions week-in, week-out as we do at the moment.
I can't say what the answer is, but it most certainly isn't 'fine' as it is.

it is as good as it can be.

I don't think i could possible agree with that less.
It is an absolute joke. my dead grandma could do a better job of officiating than some of the 'performances' we've seen this year.
Week in, week out wrong decisions are being given over critical things like players being sent off or not, penalties given or not etc. these things could very easily result in a club making europe or not, or getting relegated or not. in either case the difference is around £40m worth of revenue the following season, which could in turn effect the club's survival as a going concern.
There is too much money in the game nowadays to allow wrong decisions to be made and for them to stand.
