that was hilarious - i've never seen a pitch so blatantly terrible in the areas the opposition like to play
it was the way it was a completely different colour
yeah, looked like they'd poured vinegar over the outsdie 5 yards or so on each edge
I suppose it's no different to going to stoke though, it's sometimes like playing on a hay field they leave their grass so long

they have played slightly better football this last season, i must admit - i think it's a case of the ol' chucker mr delap's arms getting old and sore.
they're still ridiculously over-physical though, someone always seems to get carried off whenever i endure a game of theirs.

Would you welcome a DOF in an old fashioned man like Van Gaal or do you believe that there is no point in a DOF and rather you need a strong leader who won't be a puppet for the Fenway Group is required?

I agree. I think he's an excellent manager personally but his presence would be threatening for any prospective Martinez/Rodgers types.

I have never really understood what a DoF offers. I'm old skool though. Just let the manager get on with managing the club, use coaches on the training ground and the physio to fix injuries. All of these sports scientists, nutritionalists, sporting directors etc seem a waste of time to me.
-----------------------------------
DoF works elsewhere as they usually don't have a british style 'manager' they have head coaches. the dof signs the players, it's just the head coaches job to make those players work together - they have minimal impact on who will be signed.
the british style manager is effectively a dof and a head coach combined.

Ive just been to see a fracture specialist about my sore big toe.
He advised that the toe is "smashed".
He counted 6 pieces, as well as a break right across the joint and a fracture and chip at the other joint
(Ive already told everyone on the croatia thread, but they couldnt care less )
