In all honesty, no. He had a couple of good seasons under MON but before that, he was average at best.
I can well remember standing in pen one and listening to the abuse he was getting. He did ok toward the end of his time with us but I think most people were shocked when Brian Little took him to Villa.
I may be wrong, but I don't think The Fox have done an Unforgettable on Larry - so he's hardly regarded as a legend!

My thought's exactly Fox_14.
I must be honest, he was a bit before my time, so was worried I may have missed a vital legend in our history, but I was pretty sure he wasn't a legend.
There are a few players of that time that can be classed as genuine legends, but for Grayson to count himself amongst them is a bit much.
If he wasn't being tongue-in-cheek of course.
Only really one stand out moment - his winning goal at selhurst park in the 97 cup semi final.
Yes, I saw that quote. Such modesty, I thought, and also "what a plonker".
"Only really one stand out moment - his winning goal at selhurst park in the 97 cup semi final."
And Parker's clearance off the line toward the end. His baby was on life support that night as well if I remember rightly. Now there is a player who can call himself a legend.
Simon Grayson = respected ex Leicester pro.
I like to see him do well because of his time here, but legend is like calling people like Mark Draper, Mike Whitlow, Gary Mills and Beian Carey "legends". They were all good pros for us but that's in.
Junior Lewis is a legend, but for all the wrong reasons!!!!
Mike Whitlow is a legend for me for that equaliser at Old Trafford!
"I was a legend down there."
We remember your stout defending and leadership skills, but I think the thing that stands out will always be your modesty.
I think Larry may be getting ahead of himself a bit there. Respected? Yes. Liked? Most definitely. Legend? Not in my book.
Doesn't sound like Grayson to me - journalistic license I suspect?
A good, solid pro but legends are probably reserved for the Lineker's, Worthington's and Weller's of the past. And of course Youngy and the Birch !!!

-----------------------------------------------------------------
What a clearance - heart in mouth stuff. Dont recall the baby bit but if true then Parker is a more of a legend - statistically our worst ever manager ( 6-0 defeat to leeds after Taylor left) but we'll forgive for that -
who remembers the ironic 'parker out' chants during this game?
Grayson was average at best.
Apparently the comments were taken out of context by the Journo. He asked what odds he was on, and when told, he said his odds should have been shorter. When told they were with another bookies, he said "You see? I was a legend down there!".
But no, Grayson wasn't a legend in his own right, but part of LCFC when things were awesome, so will always be connected with this era.
Gordon Banks, Graham Cross, Peter Shilton, Derek Dougan, Jackie Sinclair, David Gibson, Howard Riley blah...blah...they are LEGENDS. Simon Grayson doesn't fall into this category.
