It seems that Danny might be after a few of our players.

hELLo TOOGYF, our neighbours must still be in shock - so here's a few thoughts from a fellow Owl.

The article I read in today's Star said that DW likes to have 'edge of your seat' players in his teams and they are the sort of players he wants to bring in. That got me thinking about the 'edge of your seat' players we had when he was our manager.

If you look at some of the players who were on our books during that period (1998-2000), see if you can pick out the 'edge of your seat' players.

Patrick Blondeau, Jim Magilton, Nic Alexandersson, Paolo di Canio, Petter Rudi, Alan Quinn, Derek Geary, Gerald Sibon, Gilles de Bilde, Beni Carbone, Emerson Thome, Goce Sedloski, Francesco Sanetti, Andy Hinchcliffe, etc. etc. and the list goes on. Did you spot the 'edge of your seat' players?

Plenty of other 'sit back in your seat' decent players but most of the rest made you want to 'vacate your seat and go home'. . . . . . and some of those above were happy to sit on their seats and draw their wages.

To be fair though the players listed were mainly signed by Atkinson and David "Evening Everybody" Pleat apart from Jonk, De "I AINT LEAVING MY DAWGS" Bilde, Sibon but still those three wasnt exactly the most exciting players or "edge of your seat" players

I'm still surprised we got him. All the best for next season. Hold on! What am I saying?!?

That's better.

Alright Ginger,

Thought it was about time I got back to the forum, this time on ja606 of course.

Comings and goings at Bramall Lane?

I'm desperate for some news on who's going, then we can start getting excited about who's gonna come in.

Sounds like Boggy's off soon, and possibly Monty and Quinn. Apparently nothing official until July when pre-season starts. I still think the one person (with Slew) that we should keep, Henderson, will go to Derby. They look to be going for a Prem-push next season so have plenty of cash to spend.

Seems Evans is in a spot of bother, according to the Sun at the weekend. Hope this doesn't put off potential suitors such as Leicester.

So all a bit unsure on the squad front at the mo. Until people go it's hard to see any changes. I see that we've signed the Haitian from Swindon, hopefully not another Claude Davies!

As for signings, there's a good winger at Walsall, forget his name but he would be good. Maybe Cresswell from Rotherham (yeah another of our old players). My mates like the sound of ALF but not sure he'd cut it. To be honest I'd like to see some of the youth team in the first squad next year. Long, Maguire, Harriott, the little right back who I can't remember the name of, and of course Slew, if he stays.

How about at Wednesday, who else do you see coming in? I thought Mandy might be in for some of our better players seeing as we're skint but maybe not. Thoughts?
