"or are they just saying this to keep the fans happy?"

Hillwood proposes, Wenger disposes.

We have the best board in the world.

Peter Hill-Wood, Sir Chips Keswick, Lord Harris of Peckham, Buzz Killington......I can relate with these guys soooo much.

Saying that funds is available is not exciting, we'll just not spend it

The time i'll listen to Peter Hill-wood is when he's discussing his retirement funds.

There have always been funds available. We just never use them.

You can't spells funds without fun.

Also ds......a DS is also fun though especially if you're playing Nintendogs and you're barking into it on a crowded bus or on the tube.

There's not much point in using this mysterious 'funds' if you don't have the wage structure to accomodate the players to buy from them.

Mata is a prime example. He didn't come because of the wage structure we have in place. He'll score against us, you know!

How many times have I heard that garbage?!

With regard to our wage structure we still have a high wage bill but we tend to keep everyone quite close together. This means that squad players and some players who to be frank don't pull their weight are well rewarded. Look at the issues we had in trying to get rid of the likes of Bendy and Denilson. All we could do was loan them out in the end. We need to reward the guys who deliver.

Goal.com had a good article on last week, which is a rarity in itself.

It argued that Arsenal could easily afford the wage structure of Chelsea and United, if it negotiated the other wages well.

For example, Diaby, Bendtner, Denilson, Eboue, Almunia, Squillaci, were/are all on £50k-£60k. Most of these were sanctioned by Wenger, so he has to take some blame.

Such blatant lies means I have to filter you I'm afraid.

Wenger tried very hard to ship out quite a few squad players with varied success this Summer. I'm hoping that he's realised now that he's rewarded mediocrity far too highly for far too long. RVP is worth more to the club then all of those players you mentioned (plus many others) combined.

The thing about Mata is a load of rubbish

Mata was on very low wages at Valencia and we were in the driving seat in negotiations

That was until Wenger decided Mata wasnt worth the release clause that was active

Once we pulled out Chelsea jumped in and the rest was history

Mata is amazing! And because of us being stingy we missed out on him and ended up bringing in Benayoun and Arteta.

Considering Henry was on £130k a week back in 2004 I think as usual at the Emirates the truth is far apart from what is said

The wage bill is massive. It has been for years and Wenger has been running with one of the biggest budgets in football. The fact the club has too many professionals and continues to carry a lot of either dead wood or younger players for years whilst it is blindingly obvious they will never make it in the first team

The structure of the wage bill is the issue, as above too much money on mediocre players. A more balanced squad of younger players with top quality would surely be better

The contractual issues with players the club has actually needed over recent years is baffling and Hill Wood & Wenger and now Gazidis continue to talk!

The 'business plan' & arrogance about how clever they are to have a new stadium with one debt to service is bizarre. Clearly this strategy is not open to clubs not in prime London real estate. The 'football plan' of wasting millions in wages on players simply not good enough has been the real crime

Only City who have spent massively in the last couple of years have joined the 'big' clubs. Arsenal have been treading water and only achieving CL football with a CL budget!

How many players in Wengers 15 yrs have actually come through the ranks (without been poached / brought in) and become genuine stars. Cashley? I can't count Wilshere after 1 season achieving nothing!

Fergie won a CL & a treble with a team full of home grown talents which took 13 yrs. Arsenal are miles away from that 15 years later. Wenger is deluded & Gooners that genuinely believe he will suddenly change and improve the team today instead of continuing to make false promises about tomorrow are been worse

It's blindingly obvious to all outside the Emirates that it will end in tears. A change is needed & someone brought in that wants to win today! Wenger has been peddling the tomorrow nonsense for 6 or 7 years now. Any other top club would have made the change long ago

He makes more mistakes now then good decisions which is a sure sign that he's been there too long
